One month before the casserole's customary time to shine, the woman who created it has passed away.Dorcas Reilly was 92 and died of Alzheimer's disease on October 15 in Camden, New Jersey, the Hinski-Tomlinson Funeral Home told CNN.Reilly was one of the first full-time members of Home Economics department at Campbell's. That's where she came up with what the company calls "the mother of all comfort foods" in 1955.She simply combined green beans and Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup, and called it "Green Bean Bake.""Dorcas would often share that the first time she made her famous recipe, it did not receive the highest rating in Campbell's internal testing," the company said in a statement.But she kept at it. Researchers say that’s probably not a good idea.Researchers at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom looked at the impact of having a bad night’s sleep and morning coffee. They found a cup of coffee on an empty stomach could impair control of blood sugar levels.Some good news, the scientists, writing in the British Journal of Nutrition, say that one night of poor sleep has a limited impact on a person’s metabolism when compared to a normal night sleep.However, drinking coffee first thing can have a negative effect on glucose metabolism by around 50 percent, researchers found.“We know that nearly half of us will wake in the morning and, before doing anything else, drink coffee – intuitively the more tired we feel, the stronger the coffee,” said Professor James Betts, Co-Director of the Centre for Nutrition, Exercise and Metabolism at the University of Bath who oversaw the work.Study participants underwent tests where they had either normal or disrupted nights sleep, followed by coffee or a glucose drink representing the calories in an average carbohydrate breakfast about an hour after they woke up.Then their glucose and insulin levels were taken.“Put simply, our blood sugar control is impaired when the first thing our bodies come into contact with is coffee especially after a night of disrupted sleep. We might improve this by eating first and then drinking coffee later if we feel we still need it. A woman is suing Waffle House after saying she was served bleach in a drink she got from a restaurant in Georgia.Atavian Moore sued the restaurant chain Oct. 27, claiming the incident has cost her ,000 in medical bills so far, according to Atlanta's WSB-TV.Moore claims that when she was eating at a Waffle House in Lithonia, Georgia in October 2015, she was given a drink that had bleach in it. Amazing, up-close video shows a tour guide's GoPro camera becoming engulfed in a Hawaii lava flow.Erik Storm said it happened by accident while he was guiding a tour in Kalapana in August 2016.Storm said he used a rock hammer to extract the camera after the lava began to cool and harden.He thought it had surely been destroyed, but was amazed to see the blue Wi-Fi light still blinking.
