WISCONSIN — An update on the expected re-entry of China's old Tiangong-1 space station has been announced.The space station was initially launched in September 2011. An official Chinese statement declared that Tiangong-1 terminated its data service on March 21, 2016. Since the Chinese government has lost control of the station, it's hard to predict where and when it will fall.The European Space Agency predicts the space station will fall back to Earth between March 30 and April 6, while research organization Aerospace predicts a re-entry on April 1, give or take 4 days.Aerospace says it is much easier to predict a re-entry time than a location. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The hurricane season continues to be active with the formation of a new tropical storm and a depression in the last 12 hours.Tropical depression 17 formed Sunday night in the Atlantic and became Tropical Storm Paulette just before 11 a.m. Monday.The storm has 40 mph winds with higher gusts and is moving west, northwest at 3 mph.Paulette is the earliest forming 16th named storm on record, breaking an old record set by Philippe on September 17, 2005, according to hurricane expert Philip Klotzbach.A slow-motion toward the northwest or north-northwest is expected tonight. Paulette is then forecast to move a little faster and generally westward on Tuesday and Wednesday.Early indications are it may curve before it reaches the Bahamas, but we will keep an eye on it just in case. With emotions still raw days after a deadly school shooting in Florida, one Ohio family is fighting back against what they think is an unfair punishment.Beth Mertel says one of her son's peers brought a toy gun to Greenbriar Middle School in Parma on Feb. 8, and pointed it at her son, Joey."He says he doesn't want to be the snitch," Mertel said. "They're 11 years old. They're kids. They're trying to find their place with their friends too."Mertel says the Parma City School District suspended the student who brought the toy gun, along with three other students, including Joey, for knowing about it but not telling an adult about it.The district stands behind the discipline, saying the three additional students were punished under a part of the Student Handbook labeled "Withholding Information."Mertel's concern is with the severity of the punishment, not the rule she admits her son should have followed."No matter how much I disagree with the suspension, you still should have said something," said Beth.Mertel says Wednesday's tragedy in Florida is an important teaching moment."I said [to Joey] you need to go home and turn on the news," said Beth. "You need to watch this, you need to understand this."The district tells us that suspension will stay on Joey's internal school record through middle school and into high school.
