(KGTV) — The owner of a juice bar says she is "completely disheartened" after her business was targeted by a burglar for the third time in several years.On Tuesday morning, owner Vianey Delacruz says her sister went to open up when she saw the broken window and trail of glass. Delacruz opened up Get Juiced on S. Escondido Blvd. about four years ago."Feeling empty, not just in your pockets but in your heart," said Delacruz.Among the stolen items: A cash register, iPads, and two tablets, totaling about ,000."Basically took everything of value we need to run our business," said Delacruz.The pain of the theft is something Delacruz has felt two other times since 2015. In the first break-in, surveillance video showed an intruder in a hoodie picked the lock, before grabbing iPads, tablets and laptops, and a cash register.In another break-in, two men removed a window screen, then climbed in and took another cash register, iPads and speakers. It's unknown if any of the burglaries are linked. The total value lost in all the burglaries is more than ,000. Delacruz does not have insurance for the business, so the loss comes out of her pocket. ERLANGER, Ky. -- Police shot a suspect outside a bar in Erlanger, Kentucky on Wednesday night after the suspect pointed a gun at the officers, according to Kentucky State Police trooper Charles Loudermilk.Loudermilk said two officers from the Erlanger Police Department had been pursuing 40-year-old Dexter Helton, of Florence, over an active felony drug warrant and located him inside Peecox Bar and Grill at about 8 p.m. He fled on foot out the back door of the bar, drew a firearm and pointed it at the officers, at which point an officer shot him. "This action caused a life threatening situation for the officers involved and they were forced to discharge their firearms," Kentucky State Police said in a news release. Helton was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with "critical injuries" after the incident. Neither of the Erlanger officers were shot or injured. Identities of the police officers involved have not yet been released. Investigators are reviewing footage from the officer's body cameras. Authorities also seized a witness's phone who had posted a video of the moments after the shooting on Facebook. Surveillance video from the bar will also be analyzed, Loudermilk said. Kentucky State Police will investigate the shooting, Loudermilk said.  1359

(KGTV) — Cardiff Elementary School in Encinitas must pay 0,000 just so it can resume a project to modernize its campus.The payment is part of a settlement to a group that sued the district over a project to rebuild much of the school, which had upwards of 60-year-old buildings.In 2016, voters approved a million bond measure authorizing the project. The group that sued, Save the Park and Build the School, challenged the plan's environmental impact report and its plan to build a multipurpose facility on part of a grassy area of district property that doubles as a public park in off hours. Late last year, a judge ruled in the group's favor and issued an order to halt work on the project. This week, the school and the group reached a settlement to allow campus construction to resume, and put the multipurpose center back into a federal approval process because it involves the National Park Service. The group got 0,000 for legal fees. "It was a flex and it cost our kids and the taxpayers 0,000 to bring us right back to where we were in December," said Morgan Gates, a parent at the school. Eleanor Musick, who heads the group, said the park is cherished and one of the only open spaces nearby. "It was not that we intended to stop the construction specifically to spite them or anything like that, That's the law. If a project is out of compliance with [The California Environment Quality Act] it must stop," Musick said. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the death was reported at Live Oak Park Road and North Ridge Drive in Fallbrook at an unknown time. At this time, it’s unclear how the individual died and how the body was discovered. Deputies investigated, then called in homicide detectives to take charge of the case, Lt.
