TUCSON, Arizona — Another U.S. Senate seat will soon be up for grabs in Arizona.Governor Doug Ducey announced Friday morning that Senator Jon Kyl — who Ducey appointed to the Senate after John McCain's death in August — will step down from his role at the end of the year. That leaves Ducey in the hot seat — he'll have to appoint another Senator to fill the seat until a special election can be conducted in 2020. By Arizona law, Ducey — a Republican — has to appoint someone of his same political party.Ducey hasn't offered any insight into who he would appoint, but speculation included several prominent Republican names, including McCain's widow Cindy McCain and former Senate candidate and Congresswoman Martha McSally. 742

VERO BEACH, Fla. -- For Crystal Smith, the midday heat in Florida isn't her biggest challenge. Living in a shelter, the single mom is trying to get back on her feet. She was one of the first people working at the "Dignity Food Truck" in Vero Beach."I've just been making food, certain dishes, just learning. (The organizers) give you on the job training and actually give you a job," said Smith.Set up by the Source, a Christian Ministry outreach in Vero Beach, it is a new program for the homeless and unemployed."What our students lack is real-time training in front of real customers. That's what Dignity Food Truck gives them. It gives them real exposure in real-time, made-to-order food," said Anthony Zorbaugh, the executive director of the Source.Chef Henry Restrepo said this is his most important mission in two decades of cooking."We train them for the culinary so they can get their life back," said Restrepo.Money raised goes back into the program. The truck was made possible by a 0,000 grant from the philanthropic group Impact 100."We love the mission. We love the project itself. It fulfills a multitude of needs," said Kristin Rohr with Impact 100.It fills an immediate need for Smith while giving her hope for the future."I would like my own business eventually," said Smith. The Food Truck will be parked at Tropical Scooters along U.S. 1 in Vero Beach on Mondays and Tuesdays. It will be at United Against Poverty Wednesdays and Route 60 Hyundai on Fridays. A Thursday space will be announced in the future. This story was originally published by Jon Shainman at WPTV. 1594

Unique hardly describes the lawsuit Scarlett Watts and her attorney recently filed in Florida federal court.Scarlett Watts said she was only days late on her house payment when her mortgage company called looking for their money.  Watts describes the exchange between her and the debt collector as tense but nothing more. Later that day she received a string of obscene text messages. The texts called Watts vulgar names and mentioned her late bill not once but twice. She called the mortgage company and they denied any wrongdoing on behalf of their employee.Attorney Billy Howard has filed a harassment suit on Watt’s behalf against the lender based on Florida and federal law that makes it illegal for a debt collector to harass a borrower on their cell phone.Next Howard plans to subpoena phone records to determine if the texts may have come from a company phone or an employee's phone.Watts says she decided to take legal action to teach the texter a lesson and hopefully collect a few thousand dollars. Victims of debt collection harassment can sue for between 0 and 00 per call or text.Scripps station WFTS in Tampa reached out to the lender four times for a comment. They have yet to respond. 1233
