HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida woman was in for an unexpected surprise after her new weight loss surgery. For close to a decade, Daria Yackwack, a former Tampa resident who now lives in Fort Walton Beach, had to live with polycycstic ovary syndrome. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services defines it as a hormonal imbalance that affects 1 in 10 women. For Yackwack, it meant weight gain and a lot of changes for what her future would look like."Back when I first got diagnosed, (doctors) were like 'it’s going to be really hard to get pregnant,'" said Yackwack.Last year, she made a decision for herself to have gastric sleeve surgery. It was a surgery that would remove more than half of her stomach. Her weight loss was evident in pictures and her doctors said she was doing great. But in August, it was when her success turned into a scare.“I woke up with a very bad back pain. I was crying and like screaming and I woke up my other half and I was like 'my back really hurts. I’m not sure what’s really going on,'" said Yackwack.A trip to the bathroom didn't seem right to her. She thought a cyst ruptured due to her PCOS, she said it happened all the time.Turns out, she was 35 weeks pregnant. "(Doctors) came and did a fourth ultrasound and they went up like in my ribcage and they’re like, 'oh yeah. There’s a baby in there. It’s a big baby. You’re going to give birth,'” said Yackwack.Nine hours later, Aurora Lynn was born. 1457

For the third time in the span of less than a week, a House Republican lawmaker on Thursday blocked the passage of a multibillion-dollar disaster relief bill, essentially guaranteeing the bill won't pass until the full House is back from recess on Monday. The House and Senate are on recess this week, but when House Democrats tried to pass the legislation through unanimous consent on Thursday afternoon, Republican Rep. John Rose of Tennessee objected. The objection of just one lawmaker is all it takes to block legislation from being approved by unanimous consent. The legislation is still expected to have the votes to pass when the House returns to Washington next week, but the objection will stall the bill until a floor vote can take place. The .1 billion bill passed the Senate by a vote of 85 to 8 earlier this month and President Donald Trump has 871

Hip-hop luminary Dr. Dre took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate his daughter's acceptance to the University of Southern California and throw shade at other rich families caught up in a national admissions scandal. The rapper, whose real name is Andre Young, initially posted a picture with his daughter, Truly Young, and her acceptance letter to the school."My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own," the rapper wrote in the caption. "No jail time!!!!"Dre's comment was a thinly veiled reference to the college admissions scandal in which dozens of parents are facing federal charges after accusations they cheated to get their children accepted to prestigious schools, including USC.But critics were quick to point out in the comments of Dre's post that his daughter's acceptance to the university came just a few years after he and producer Jimmy Iovine made a million donation to the school.Dre and Iovine made the donation in 2013 to establish the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation, 1067

Former Penn State football player Isaiah Humphries has filed a federal lawsuit, claiming that other members of Penn State’s football team hazed him and the coaching staff was aware of it, ESPN reported. Humphries’ suit is against Penn State head coach James Franklin and former teammate Damion Barber. Humphries claimed that other teammates, including Barber, Micah Parsons, Yetur Gross-Matos, Jesse Luketa brought on the hazing, ESPN reported. Among the allegations, ESPN reported that Humphries alleged that players “facilitated a campaign to harass and haze underclassmen” on the team. Humphries claimed that a member of the team said "I am going to Sandusky you."Jerry Sandusky was a former Penn State coach convicted of sexually abusing children while on university property. Many university officials, including former head coach Joe Paterno were fired in the wake of the Sandusky scandal.Penn State released a statement to ESPN noting that no charges were filed. "The university has established processes in place for responding to claims of potential misconduct. In accordance with our processes, the Office of Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response and the Office of Student Conduct carried out investigations of the plaintiff's claims independent from Intercollegiate Athletics," the school said. "In addition, Penn State police investigated related allegations and forwarded the results of that investigation to the Office of the Centre County District Attorney. The DA reviewed the case and decided that no charges would be pursued."To read more of ESPN’s report, click 1597
