DESCANSO, Calif. (KGTV) - Four people were seriously injured and one person is in custody following a pursuit with Border Patrol agents on Interstate 8 in East San Diego County Tuesday.Border Patrol said a blue Ford Expedition failed to yield to a marked vehicle just before 11 a.m. on I-8 near Buckman Springs Rd. The vehicle continued on, at one point reaching over 100 miles per hour, and lost control as it approached slower moving traffic. The Ford then careened off I-8 near Japatul Valley Rd., rolling down a ravine and landing on its roof.Two passengers, who were unrestrained, were ejected from the vehicle and sustained major injuries. Two other passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries. All four were taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego and Sharp Memorial Hospital.The driver of the car, a 23-year-old U.S. citizen, was uninjured and tried to flee from the crash, Border Patrol said, but he was quickly apprehended and placed in Border Patrol custody.Three of the four passengers are Mexican nationals, according to Border Patrol. Deputies say a woman attacked a mother and daughter on a Greyhound bus that had departed from Las Vegas. According to investigators, three strangers helped to save the child's life.The bus left Las Vegas shortly after 7 a.m. Monday and was headed to San Francisco. Teresa Ann Andrade Madrigal attacked the mother and child, just 45 minutes after leaving the station in Bakersfield, authorities report."The lady had the baby in her hand," said one passenger, "...and next thing I know, I heard she has a knife."Investigators say Madrigal appeared to be delusional. They say Madrigal grabbed the child around the neck and held her at knife point. That's when the child's mother started to fight the attacker.Soon, the bus driver and two other passengers jumped into action. The mother was stabbed in the abdomen. The men were able to help get the child  away from the suspect.In total, five people were hurt. We're told Madrigal, who was speaking to herself, was initially asked to get off the bus. The driver felt that it was safe to let the woman back on the bus after speaking with her outside.Right now, the investigation into this incident is ongoing. Investigators say Madrigal also stabbed herself. The child's mother, who has not been identified, had surgery on Monday.  She is expected to make a full recovery. DETROIT — A 20-year-old woman believed to have died was found breathing at a Detroit funeral home.According to an attorney hired by her family, workers at the funeral home were close to embalming Timesha Beauchamp before realizing that she was still breathing."They were about to embalm her which is most frightening had she not had her eyes open. They would have begun draining her blood to be very, very frank about it," said Geoffrey Fieger, an attorney who has been hired by Beauchamp's family.On Sunday morning, paramedics with the Southfield Fire Department in Michigan responded after receiving a call about an unresponsive woman. The department's fire chief said Beauchamp was not breathing when the paramedics arrived.First responders determined after 30 minutes of revival efforts that she was deceased."Because there was no indication of foul play, as per standard operating procedure, the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and given the medical data. The patient was again determined to have expired and the body was released directly to the family to make arrangements with a funeral home of their choosing," the chief said in a statement.Fieger says that Beauchamp's godmother — a registered nurse — tried to tell EMS workers that she felt a pulse.Hours later, the staff at the James H. Cole funeral home realized she was still breathing. "It’s one of people's worst nightmares to imagine having an ambulance called and instead, sending you off to a funeral home in a body bag. The funeral home unzipping the body bag, literally, that’s what happened to Timesha, and seeing her alive with her eyes open," Fieger said.Beauchamp is in critical condition at Sinai Grace Hospital and is on a ventilator. Fieger said that the 90-minute delay Beauchamp encountered by going to the funeral home instead of going to the hospital may be critical to her recovery.It is still unclear what led up to the call for the unresponsive woman.“A local emergency department physician pronounced the patient deceased based upon medical information provided by the Southfield Fire Department at the scene. After which, the Southfield Police Department contacted the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office to notify them of the findings and the on-duty forensic pathologist released the body to the family," the Southfield Fire Department said in a statement. "The Southfield Fire and Police Departments followed all appropriate city, county and state protocols and procedures in this case. The City of Southfield is currently conducting a thorough internal investigation in addition to the Oakland County Medical Control Authority (OCMCA) which will be reporting their findings to the State of Michigan Bureau of EMS, Trauma and Preparedness (BETP). DENVER – Funeral services for a pregnant Colorado woman and her two daughters, who were killed earlier this month and dumped at an oil and gas site will be held Saturday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.The family of 34-year-old Shanann Watts, her daughters, 4-year-old Bella Marie and 3-year-old Celeste Cathryn, and Shanann’s unborn child, which the family said was going to be called Nico, announced in the Sandhill Sentinel that funeral services would be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst.“She was out pride and joy, a true gift from God,” Shanann’s father and mother, Frank Rzucek and Sandra Onorati Rzucek, wrote in her obituary. “We were so blessed to have such a joyful and wonderful daughter whose beauty was that of a doll.”The obituary says Shanann battled Lupus during life and that Celeste’s birth was exciting because of her struggle with the disease. She and her family were originally from North Carolina.The family asks people to donate to the Lupus Foundation of America, the Frederick (Colo.) (KGTV) -- A plan meant to increase safety along Del Mar's famous coastal bluffs is being met with deep resistance by residents, surfers and walkers.North County Transit District says it has obtained grants to fund building a fence to protect the train tracks on the bluffs. It would aim to end 100 years of people illegally crossing the tracks to get down to the beach or take in the views.The district says it would help prevent erosion and increase safety - six people have been hit by trains in Del Mar in the last two years. RELATED: Del Mar bluff collapses for second time since AugustThe Del Mar City Council will discuss the proposal at its meeting Monday. "They put a fence up there it's not going to stop me," said Chris Gable, a longtime Del Mar surfer. "I understand it's a safety hazard since they're upping the frequency of the trains, but I don't think it's going to go over well."Del Mar Mayor Dwight Worden said the fencing is an overreaction.
