Corporate America is coming to Wall Street's rescue.The Dow soared?548 points, or 2.2%, on Tuesday as investors cheered fat profits from major companies and relative calm in the bond market. The huge rally, the Dow's best day since March, helped the index recover a chunk of last week's hefty losses.Tech stocks, the biggest losers during the market turmoil, raced back to life. The Nasdaq spiked nearly 3%, while the S&P 500 advanced 2.2%.Investors piled back into tech darlings. Amazon, Facebook and Netflix closed sharply higher."It's a bounce back after an overdone situation last week," said David Joy, chief market strategist at Ameriprise Financial.Market sentiment was lifted by earnings beats from Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Johnson & Johnson. Adobe and UnitedHealth added to the good news by offering upbeat guidance for 2019.Taken together, the corporate report cards underscore the ability of businesses to cash in on the strong US economy. And the results should ease fears about the US-China trade war."We're focusing back on fundamentals," said Dan Suzuki, portfolio strategist at Richard Bernstein Advisors. Suzuki called Tuesday's rally a "reflexive rebound."Last week, the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq all suffered their worst week since March. COLUMBUS, Indiana — A father found mold in a Capri Sun pouch last month that he was going to give his child. Cameron Hardwick, of Columbus, Indiana, posted a video of the discovery in the Capri Sun pouch on Sept. 24. He was going to give the Capri Sun to his 3-year-old child, and he found that one pouch was lighter and different than others.Hardwick cut the pouch open and poured it into a glass, where some kind of mold was visible. His post has more than 21 million views, and 88,000 shares on Facebook. "To say we are irate would be an understatement... we don't give these to our children often but will NEVER again!" Hardwick wrote. After the video was posted, he contacted Kraft and somebody picked up the pouch. CINCINNATI, Ohio — While the United States and allies began military operations intended to cripple Syria's ability to use chemical weapons, a local doctor was waiting nervously to hear if his family was OK. Dr. Humam Akbik was born in Syria. He now lives in the Tri-State, but his mom, sister and brother still live in Damascus. As the military operation got underway Friday night (Saturday morning in Syria), Akbik said he received a text from his wife's family that the city was shaking and there was smoke everywhere."We couldn't get in touch with them for a few hours," he said. "That was pretty unnerving."Thankfully, Akbik's family members were all OK.Akbik said he hopes the airstrikes were effective in sending a message to the Syrian government that the use of chemical weapons isn't acceptable."It looks like there's a new norm of using chemical weapons ... I think it's time for the international community in such a civilized world to step in and say, 'No. The use of a chemical weapon, it's never going to be the norm,'" Akbik said. "There will be a line drawn in the sand and it's going to be a hard line this time.
