Two children’s cough syrups are being recalled because of a defect that could cause overdosing.GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare is voluntarily recalling two lots of Children's Robitussin? Honey Cough and Chest Congestion DM and one lot of Children's Dimetapp? Cold and Cough. (see below for details) The products were sold between February 5 and June 3 of this year.According to the FDA, during a review of the packaging, the drug company discovered the dosing cups were missing the 5mL and 10mL graduations. TUCSON, Ariz. — A family is searching for answers after their beloved dog died while in the care of a local Tucson, Arizona PetSmart. The family dropped their dog, Rufus, off at the PetSmart on Oracle and Wetmore. TULSA, Oklahoma -- The suspect in an Amber Alert and stabbing was seen smiling Tuesday afternoon after her arrest.Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma said 39-year-old Taheerah Ahmad stabbed her 11-year-old daughter on Monday night. The 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in "very" critical condition, where she remains unconscious.An Amber Alert was issued after police said Ahmad also abducted her eight-year-old child. Ahmad was located around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in Tulsa. The 8-year-old child was also found safe. Police said citizens walking in the area noticed the vehicle and contacted authorities. Ahmad was taken into custody without incident. Police said she had been in that parking area for 17 hours before being found. Police said the woman admitted to the crime. Ahmad said she became upset with her children, and bound two of her children's hands with duct tape. She said the 11-year-old child fought back, and she stabbed the child 50 to 60 times and hit her in the head with a pick ax, according to police. She was arrested on counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, first-degree arson and abuse of a child.  1209

The findings were for known coronavirus cases through September 3.Children comprise nearly 9.8% of all COVID-19 cases, the report found.The report found that as of September 3, 4,321 children have been hospitalized by the virus, comprising 1.7% of all coronavirus-related hospitalizations. Hospital data only covered 23 states and NYC.Children made up .07% of coronavirus deaths, with 103 children reportedly dying from COVID-19 related illnesses. Mortality data was unavailable for seven states.So far in 2020, there have been 190,000 coronavirus-related deaths, and public health experts expect the number of fatalities to increase through the rest of the year.While the coronavirus has proven to be much more deadly for adults, especially seniors, it appears to be less deadly for children compared to influenza. According to CDC data, an estimated 477 children died from the flu in 2018-19, a season when flu-related illnesses killed an estimated 34,157 across the US.There were some inconsistencies in the coronavirus data, the report acknowledged, including how states define children. Also some states did not have hospital or mortality data.While children have largely been spared the worst effects of the coronavirus, there are still questions on how easily children can spread the virus to others.
