WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump says 22 people in the U.S. have been stricken by the new coronavirus and additional cases in the United States are “likely.” Trump provided an update on the virus after the first reported U.S. death Saturday, whom he described as a woman in her late 50s who was a high medical risk. Additionally, the administration said it’s banning travel to Iran in response to the outbreak of the new coronavirus and it's elevating travel warnings to regions of Italy and South Korea. The president says that healthy Americans should be able to recover if they contract the new virus. The virus threat has spooked global markets and the public at large. (CNN) — Five elephants and a 3-year-old calf died at a waterfall in Thailand during what authorities believe was an attempt by the adults to save the young one.The incident happened Saturday at the Haew Narok waterfall at the Khao Yai National Park.Two surviving elephants were trapped at the waterfall for hours before national park officials saved them, and fed them pineapples, bananas and sugar cane covered in supplements.Authorities were notified that elephants were crying out from the waterfall and when they arrived, they discovered the body of the calf, said Khanchit Srinoppawan, chief of the Khao Yai National Park. The five dead adult elephants were found in another part of the waterfall.The waterfall is closed to the public following the incident. 775

A man climbed the National Christmas Tree, on the Ellipse by the White House, on Friday evening, US Park Police confirmed.The first calls came in to police at about 5:45 p.m., Public Information Officer Sgt. Eduardo Delgado told CNN.Police and two negotiators arrived at the scene. The man made it about 15 feet up the tree before coming down on his own at about 7 p.m., Delgado said.The man, whom police did not identify, was not injured but was transported to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation, Delgado said.The pageant area of the park was closed for the remainder of the evening. 609
