Police in Omaha, Nebraska are looking for a suspect vehicle in connection with a shooting at the Irvington Walmart just before 5 p.m. Wednesday that left a 21-year-old woman dead.Kayviaun T. Nelson died after a shooting in the parking lot of the Walmart near 99th Street and Military Avenue, just off Interstate 680, with a child reportedly in the vehicle. OPD are looking for a 2001 bronze Chevy Malibu with license plate VVT-545.Police closed down the Irvington Walmart for hours Wednesday evening while conducting their investigation around the store.Police said they believe some type of disturbance occurred at a different location and the suspect in the shooting followed her to Walmart.Officers later worked with store management to clear all customers from the Walmart location just off Interstate 680 North and prevent anyone else from entering the location. OPD said they expected the store to be closed for a few hours while they review surveillance video. An OPD forensics unit arrived at the scene just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.  1116

Police searched early Thursday for a man who robbed a Nashville area pizza chain at gunpoint.Metro Nashville Police officers were called to the Domino's Pizza on Hamilton Crossing in Antioch at about midnight Thursday.  Two employees told officers they heard the drive-thru bell go off, and saw a Toyota Camry parked a short distance from the window. When one of the employees approached the window, he told officers a man who had been crouching below the window jumped up and pointed a handgun at the worker.Police said the suspect then crawled through the drive-thru window and demanded the workers empty the cash register. He took the cash and left the Domino's through the drive-thru window. The victims told police they saw the suspect get into the white Toyota Camry they saw parked away from the window. Neither Domino's worker was hurt in the robbery. Investigators don't have much in the way of a description of the suspect, as the victims told them he had his face covered with a black and white bandana. Officers at the scene told us there is surveillance video that they are reviewing. PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Central Florida man is on a mission to do something nobody else has ever done: become the first person with Down Syndrome to complete a full Ironman.Chris Nikic has become an inspiration to people around the world and it started with a simple mission.Nik Nikic encouraged his son to push himself 1% more each day.“We came up with this concept of just get a little better today than yesterday,” Nik explained.Now, 21-year-old Chris is about to do something incredible. On November 7, he’ll swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a full 26.2 mile marathon in Panama City Beach.“I want to inspire others so that they can be like me and so that one day they can do it too,” Chris said with a smile.If he completes the race within 17 hours, Chris will be the first person with Down Syndrome to ever finish an Ironman.He also has a message for the other competitors: “You better watch out, because I’m going to beat you!”“Really, you’re going to beat all of them?” his dad asked.“Yeah!” Chris answered enthusiastically.Chris has spent several months swimming off the coast of Pinellas County as he trains with coach Dan Grieb for the big race and gets used to the choppy Gulf of Mexico waters.“I’ve learned that you can teach anybody anything if you’re willing to love them through their disability or love them through their struggle,” Grieb added.Chris has been documenting his journey on social media. PARIS (AP) — Kenzo Takada, the iconic French-Japanese fashion designer famed for his jungle-infused designs and free-spirited aesthetic that channeled global travel, has died. He was 81. The family said Takada died from complications from COVID-19. Takada retired from his house in 1999 to pursue a career in art, but it remains a respected fixture in high Paris fashion. Since 1993, the brand Kenzo has been owned by luxury goods company LVMH. He studied fashion in Tokyo before relocating to Paris and taking over a boutique there in 1970.
