Her house rests where the new Foxconn development will be. Her comments come before a public hearing detailing plans, which is set for Tuesday night.Village President Dave DeGroot, who calls the billion investment a once in a generation opportunity, says the homes in the development and road improvement areas are being purchased at 140-percent market value. But Mahoney claims her home is not in the road improvement zone where she must agree to sell. She claims the village is trying to "skirt the law" by declaring her property as a blighted area on the development site."This area doesn't qualify for the new definition of blight that the Wisconsin Legislature put in Chapter 32 that says the properties are dilapidated or deteriorated, or run down, or are a safety or health risk," said Mahoney."I don't think its fair to characterize it that we are skirting any laws," said DeGroot. "We are being very upfront, very forthright, very transparent with how we are going about this process. More than two months after Bed Bath & Beyond announced they were closing about 200 stores in the next few years, they are sharing the first 60 or so that will close by the end of the year.In July, when they made the announcement, Bed Bath & Beyond said they had to close about 90 percent of their stores during the coronavirus pandemic and in-store sales were down 77 percent.Before the pandemic, the company closed 40 stores in the first part of 2020.The additional 200 represent about 20 percent of Bed Bath & beyond stores. More than two dozen people have been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents as they are investigating suspected human smuggling activity at a Phoenix home.Video taken on Tuesday around 6 p.m. showed several people handcuffed and leaning against a garage door of a residence.The 30-plus individuals have been detained on immigration administrative charges in conjunction with the investigation, ICE said in a statement. No further information was immediately available.   514

More than 5,000 people could still be missing in Indonesia, following a powerful earthquake that hit the island of Sulawesi last week, officials said on Sunday.Thousands of people are believed to be missing in the towns of Baleroa and Petobo, where rivers of soil swept away entire neighborhoods in the aftermath of a 7.5-magnitude earthquake and ensuing tsunami on September 28.The confirmed death toll from the quake has now reached 1,763, with 265 people missing in central Sulawesi's largest city, Palu, the spokesperson of Indonesia's Disaster Management Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, told reporters in Jakarta on Sunday.Almost all of the dead have been buried in mass graves. Another 62,000 people have been displaced by the disaster, Nugroho said.The spokesman estimated that 5,000 people could still be missing in Baleroa and Petobo, which had been badly hit by soil liquefaction -- a process where the soil becomes saturated with water, causing it to erupt into torrents that topple buildings. 1010
