The House Intelligence Committee on Friday released a redacted version of the Republican report on the committee's year-long Russia investigation, in which, GOP members say, they found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and disputed the intelligence community's findings that Vladimir Putin tried to help elect Donald Trump President. The committee released the report with redactions from the intelligence community, along with a redacted Democratic dissent disputing the Republican conclusions.Rep. Mike Conaway, the Texas Republican who led the committee's Russia probe, said in a statement that the intelligence community made "overzealous redactions" to the report, and the committee plans to challenge them to get more of the report declassified."Many of the redactions include information that is publicly available, such as witness names and information previously declassified," Conaway said.Republicans ended their investigation into Russia's 2016 election meddling last month, concluding they found no evidence that Trump's team had colluded with Russians."We found no evidence of collusion, and so we found perhaps some bad judgment, inappropriate meetings," Conaway said when they submitted their report for declassification. But Democrats say Republicans failed to interview key witnesses and issue subpoenas to obtain necessary information, and were not interested in uncovering collusion. They are now continuing their own investigation without Republicans into Russia's election meddling.  1545

The number of missing in Californian wildfires has soared to 631, as authorities added hundreds of names to the lists of the unaccounted for Thursday, in what has become the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in the state's history.Butte County Sheriff and Coroner Kory Honea said Thursday evening the death toll from the Camp Fire in northern California had grown to 63 people. Seven sets of remains were discovered Thursday, he said.At least two other people have been killed in another, separate wildfire in Southern California, putting the state's death toll at 65 since the two blazes began last week.On Friday hundreds of rescue personnel -- deputies, National Guard troops and coroners -- dressed in white overalls sifted through smoldering rubble and checked mangled cars, searching for human remains.Honea said the number of names on the missing list soared after investigators added information from callers who rang the dispatch center on the day the fire erupted and reported people who were missing in the chaos. Some of the names on the Butte County list appear more than once and it's not clear if any are duplicates. Officials have said it's hard to determine the number of missing, because some people may have evacuated and can't be reached with cell phone service unreliable due to the fire."There are a lot of people displaced and we're finding a lot of people don't know we are looking for them," Honea said. The fire turned the hard-hit town of Paradise into ash and debris and also devastated the nearby communities of Magalia and Concow. Honea said three sets of remains were found Thursday in Paradise, three in Magalia and one in Concow.Honea has invited relatives of the missing to visit the sheriff's office in Oroville so authorities can collect DNA samples from them. The DNA will be used to help identify fire victims, Honea said."This is a daunting task. We feel really bad for the people who don't know what happened to their loved ones and our hearts go out to them," Butte County Sheriff's Investigations Sgt. Steve Collins said. "We want to give them some answers." 2132

The Postal Service says it is facing “historic volumes” going into its busiest shipping week of the year. While Tuesday marks the final day the Post Office recommends shipping packages via ground in time for Christmas, the USPS says there are still a number of options for customers hoping to get their packages to loved ones by Dec. 25.In an effort to assist customers, the USPS says it is enacting a number of measures in hopes of ensuring timely deliveries. Those measures include:Expanded holiday retail hours in select locationsExpanded package delivery window — delivery in morning, afternoon, and early evening where volume warrantsExpanded operational capacity with new equipmentLease extra vehicles as needed to expedite deliveriesFor customers in the continental US, the USPS recommends the following mailing and shipping deadlines for expected delivery by Dec. 25 to most US addresses.Dec. 15 — USPS Retail Ground serviceDec. 18 — APO/FPO/DPO (except ZIP Code 093) USPS Priority Mail Express serviceDec. 18 — First-Class Mail service (including greeting cards)Dec. 18 — First-class packages (up to 15.99 ounces)Dec. 19 — Priority Mail serviceDec. 23 — Priority Mail Express serviceUSPS notes that only the Priority Mail Express service is a guarantee, and the other deadlines are merely recommendations. “We thank our customers for their continued support, and we are committed to making sure gifts and cards are delivered on time to celebrate the holidays,” said Kristin Seaver, Chief Retail and Delivery Officer of the Postal Service. “We also thank our 644,000 employees who are working tirelessly throughout these unique conditions to ensure the delivery of holiday gifts and greetings."Heading into the holidays, USPS service reported significant slowdowns. The NFL Draft begins on Thursday, and this year's NFL Draft could contain one of the deepest pool of quarterbacks in Draft history. According to most NFL Draft experts, five college quarterbacks will likely be selected in the first round on Thursday. The group includes USC's Sam Darnold, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, Wyoming's Josh Allen, UCLA's Josh Rosen and Louisville's Lamar Jackson. The first team to pick on Thursday is Cleveland, who likely will select one of the five quarterbacks. Darnold and Mayfield are the leading candidates to be selected first overall, but Allen's stock has risen, and if he isn't selected by the Browns, he will likely still be a Top 10 draft choice. Here is what to look for this weekend:The basicsThe NFL Draft is being held in Dallas' AT&T Stadium. The first round will be Thursday, beginning at 8 p.m. Each teach will have 10 minutes to make a selection during the first round. Friday will have round Nos. 2 and 3, and Saturday will have round Nos. 3-7. Teams will have seven minutes per selection on Friday, and five minutes per selection in rounds 3-6, and four minutes per pick in the final round. Who will attend? All teams will send a small delegation to the draft site, which sometimes will include GMs, coaches, former players and team owners. Those delegations are in direct contact with team personnel at the team's home office, where scouts and coaches can freely deliberate options. Also, a small number of players are invited. This year, 22 players were officially invited to the draft. Those players will get to go on stage when their name is called, and be presented with a jersey, and meet with the media for interviews. Who should my team pick?In the first-round, unless it is a future franchise quarterback, a player who will have an immediate and noticeable impact. In the next few rounds, these players should hopefully compete for starting jobs as rookies. In the later rounds, teams pick players to round out rosters, and potentially compete for starting job. 2018 NFL Draft orderRound 1: 2102

The NFLPA announced that it has reached an agreement with players on moving forward with the 2020 season. The NFLPA said that its board approved the deal by a 29-3 margin.NFL Network reported that the agreement will allow high-risk players to opt out from the upcoming season due to coronavirus concerns. The league will also spread out the financial impact from the upcoming year over the next four seasons. The league projects lower revenue due to the coronavirus. The NFLPA said earlier this week that it was pushing for enhanced testing, treatment and contact tracing protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic as part of the deal. 638
