She reported on many breaking news stories including the Enterprise, AL deadly tornado that took the lives of eight Enterprise High School Students. She also went to Iraq as an embedded journalist in 2006 with the Army Corps of Engineers reporting on the rebuilding and reconstruction in Iraq.And to start off her career, Lauren began in Jefferson City, MO at KRCG-TV as a producer and fill-in reporter. Lauren attended the University of Georgia and graduated with honors with a Broadcast News Degree from the Henry Grady School of Journalism. She has received the Edward R. Murrow Award in Journalism and multiple Associated Press Awards. LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A Lakeside woman who spent ,000 to have solar panels installed on her home is angry about an 8 electric bill from San Diego Gas and Electric.Michaela Wright told 10News her power bill is three times higher than it was at this time last year.“How could I possibly get a bill this high when I bought solar panels,” questioned Wright.Wright called the high bill “price gouging” and said it was "out of hand" with a 26 percent rate hike coming in the next three years. She’s been writing letters to lawmakers and calling the governor to demand action.To make a difference, Wright also wants her East County neighbors to talk part in a walk-out. She would like to see residents leave their homes and stop using power between 4 and 9 p.m., twice a month.“Hit them in the pocketbooks because money talks and when you start losing money they start paying attention. I just feel we have to do something,” Wright said.SDG&E spokesperson Wes Jones wouldn’t comment on the walk-out or talk specifically about Wright’s bill. LANCASTER, N.Y. — It's win after win, title after title. One year after the Lancaster District Medical Director denied 13-year-old Trista Blasz the chance to wrestle on the JV team, writing "girls don't play boys sports in Lancaster Schools," Trista has won dozens of tournaments and competitions."It’s been like all wrestling. Non-stop wrestling," Trista said, "I’ve gotten first at like all of them. And just been like undefeated in like all of them. I think I’ve only lost a couple times at them." The Lancaster 8th grader has been traveling around the country competing in tournaments against both girls and boys.11-year-old Max McCarthy has witnessed Trista's success for five years. They have wrestled together at the Bison Wrestling Club for years. The two frequently win tournaments together, where he watches how competition views her."Sometimes they think, ‘Oh, she’s just a girl, who cares.' But some boys are like 'Oh, this is Trista. She’s good.' I wrestle her. I don’t treat her different," Max said.Just a year ago, Trista was treated different. The Lancaster District Medical Director didn't clear her to wrestle on the high school's JV boys' team, writing "girls don't play boys sports in Lancaster Schools."Shortly after 7 Eyewitness New's story aired, the school board cut ties with the former Lancaster District Medical Director Dr. Michael Terranova. A new review panel was then formed, clearing Trista to wrestle on the JV boys' team.A few months later, Trista was moved up to wrestle on the boys' varsity team. She also met her role model, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, or Beth Copland. Copland attended college in Buffalo. This year, Trista's mom Danielle Blasz said it's a much easier process to have Trista evaluated to play on the high school boys team."They said she doesn’t have to take her APP test because her score was amazing last year. I also emailed them saying does she have to see the school doctor for approval. He said no. She just has to see her primary doctor," Blasz said.Next year, Trista will compete on the New York National Team."They travel all over the world. LEMON GROVE (CNS) - A man was jailed for stealing a deputy's patrol car at the Lemon Grove Patrol Station, sheriff's officials said Sunday. Matthew Brian Porter, 44, was arrested Saturday evening and booked into the San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of evading deputies, theft of an emergency vehicle and fleeing police on a highway in the wrong direction, all felonies, according to jail records. At about 9 p.m., a deputy at the Lemon Grove Patrol Station was unloading his patrol car at the end of his shift, according to Lt. Mike Rand of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. A man then got into the deputy's patrol car and drove away. Deputies spotted the vehicle leaving the station and began a pursuit. But they lost sight of it as it drove eastbound on Broadway. A resident called 911 to report the abandoned patrol car in the 3500 block of Grove Street. Deputies located the vehicle and detained Porter, who allegedly admitted to stealing the patrol car. Porter's bail on the evading charge was set at ,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday. 1080
