BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday held phone talks with his Australian counterpart, Tony Abbott, to discuss the search for a missing Malaysian jetliner and relations between the two countries.

The Boeing 777-200 aircraft left Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 0:41 a.m. Beijing time on Saturday and was due to land in Beijing at 6:30 a.m. the same day.

"We have noticed that Russia, the United States, the European Union and Ukraine are preparing for talks in the near future, which is in tune with the China-proposed direction. We wish it a success," Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a joint press briefing with visiting German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"I would like to re-emphasize that China's public service vessels have conducted routine patrols in the waters of Huangyan Islands to safeguard both sovereignty and public order in the waters," Hua said, noting that China has undisputed sovereignty over the Huangyan Islands and the neighboring sea.

Xu Ting, deputy director of Xuelong's search operations, said all the crew members have been doing their best to look for any possible traces of the missing plane.
