Bicycle injury accidents have ticked up in the city of San Diego this year, as the city has seen thousands of dockless bikes appear across its neighborhoods since January.New city data shows that there were 130 injury accidents involving bicyclists through May 1, 2018, up from 102 in the same period of 2017.A San Diego Police spokesman said it would take more research to determine whether the uptick is related to dockless bikes. However, the data shows that some parts of the city are seeing fewer incidents, while others are seeing more. Hillcrest, for instance, has seen improvement. BONITA (CNS) - A 51-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured Thursday in a collision with a cement-mixer truck near Chula Vista Golf Course.The man was riding west on Sweetwater Road in Bonita shortly before 9:30 a.m. when the driver of the construction vehicle, heading the same direction, made a right turn and hit him at Briarwood Road, according to the California Highway Patrol and firefighting officials.Medics took the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego for treatment of major but non-life-threatening injuries, said Dan Genevicz, a fire captain with Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District.The accident forced a roughly 30-minute closure of the intersection, Genevicz said. 702

BONSALL, Calif. (KGTV) — A Carlsbad man was found dead after his vehicle was located down an embankment in the Bonsall area.A 77-year-old man was reported missing to Carlsbad Police earlier on Saturday before California Highway Patrol was also notified about the man. A location search of the man's mobile phone led authorities and family members to a location at Old Highway 395 and Interstate 15.CHP and family members responded to the scene, where a 2016 Mercedes was found down the embankment on Old Highway 395, below the road level and out of view from traffic. The missing man was found dead inside the vehicle. It wasn't clear what caused the crash, but CHP said impairment is not believed to be a factor.Anyone who may have information on the crash is asked to call CHP at 858-637-3800. 803
