SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County will launch a new public awareness campaign this week on COVID-19 as the number of community coronavirus outbreaks increased by three, to a total of 10 in the past seven days, officials reported Monday.Two other triggers involving the growth of new cases and the positivity rate of tests are "not moving in the right direction," said Supervisor Nathan Fletcher."These are concerning numbers," Fletcher said. "They're concerning because they clearly represent an increase in community spread and number of cases tied to our reopening and the fact that more people are out doing more things." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego FBI agents are asking the public for help find a suspect who robbed a bank in the College Area Wednesday.The man, described as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s and standing about 6-feet tall, entered a Union Bank branch in the 6000 block of El Cajon Blvd. at about 11 a.m. Investigators say the man handed a teller a demand note and received an undisclosed amount of cash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police arrested a man in connection with the murder of a man on the I-15 freeway early Saturday morning.Police said 21-year old Brandon Acuna was in jail for his involvement in the murder of 21-year old Curtis Adams of San Diego.According to jail records, Acuna was booked for murder.Police did not confirm if he is directly responsible for Adams' death.Adams and his girlfriend were driving southbound on the freeway near the northbound I-5 on-ramp in Mountain View at around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday when they spotted a stranded car.The couple stopped their vehicle to help, said San Diego police homicide Lt. Anthony Dupree. Adams exited his vehicle and approached the other car.Someone inside the vehicle opened fire on Adams then fled the scene.Adams, an active-duty service member in the Navy, was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Police said Acuna was also involved with an incident that happened 10 minutes earlier in a Mount Hope neighborhood.They say the suspect(s) in that incident shot at a victim after trying to break into his car near 600 Boundary Street. The victim was not hurt.Investigations in both incidents are ongoing. 1240
