SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near the San Diego River Saturday night. According to San Diego Police, a man’s body was found on the 9400 block of Friars Road near SDCCU Stadium around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say a preliminary investigation revealed signs of “possible trauma to the upper body.”“Out of an abundance of caution, San Diego Police Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are currently investigating the incident,” the department said. The man has been identified, but his identity isn’t being released until his family is notified. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One of the top brass at the San Diego Sheriff’s Department is facing an allegation of inappropriate conduct, Team 10 confirmed.A San Diego Sheriff’s spokesperson confirmed that Assistant Sheriff Rich Miller received a complaint and released this statement to Team 10:"The Department has received a complaint alleging inappropriate conduct by Mr. Miller. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department takes all allegations of misconduct very seriously.  As a result, an investigation is underway.  Mr. Miller is currently using accumulated leave time until his planned retirement date.  We cannot comment further based on the pending investigation." 686

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - North and South Korea made history Friday by agreeing to officially end the peninsula's civil war. The move brings back chilling memories for Korean War vets in San Diego. 10News reporter Jennifer Delacruz sat down with one of those vets ahead of an Honor Flight to the Washington, D.C. next week. Bob Weishan's trophy room takes him back to a different time -- a time of conflict and destruction."It was interesting," said Weishan. "It's a whole different world that they live in."But when the 87-year-old Korean War veteran looks back today, it's a little different. "It should have happened a long time ago."The resolution of peace between North and South Korea puts even more meaning into the 15 months he was there fighting for freedom.   "You had two options," said Weishan. "One was stay in the trucks and burn to death, or climb out of the trucks and get shot."One of his most haunting memories was watching 100,000 refugees fleeing for their lives. "They were carrying everything they owned with them."Having been there in the trenches, he knows how much his agreement means to those families who left and those still there today. "For the North Koreans, I think they're on their knees every night with prayers that this is a success and that this doesn't fail because it gives them a way out."Although it's still early on, he says it's a step in the right direction. "It's a little bit of hope," said Weishan. "At least they're talking. And if something comes out of it, it could be good."Weishan joins about 25 other vets who leave for their Honor Flight on May 4th.  1670

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Months after her husband passed away, a San Diego woman is still waiting for answers from the hospital that cared for him.Trish Zdravecky says her husband Peter stayed at Select Specialty Hospital in Hillcrest for over three months due to kidney and diabetes complications. During that time, more than ,000 worth of his jewelry went missing. "I would like someone to return the stuff. I don't need the money. I'm good. But it would be nice to have the items that were on my husband when he went into the hospital," said Trish.Among the items missing: an ,000 Rolex, gold necklace, gold bracelet, and his UC San Diego class ring.
