A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper was terminated after being caught on video pulling a mask off of a protester's face.Trooper Harvey Briggs was terminated Friday for "unprofessional conduct."A video surfaced of him interacting with protester, Andrew Golden, on the State Capitol grounds. Golden was recording a traffic stop of a woman near the Capitol, during which the protester claims Briggs ripped the protester's face mask off and threw it on the ground.The Tennessee Highway Patrol released the following statement:Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Jeff Long and Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Dereck Stewart today announced that a trooper in the Capitol Protection Unit has been terminated following an internal investigation into department policy violations.Trooper Harvey Briggs, a 22-year veteran of the department was served a termination notice on Friday, August 14, 2020 for unprofessional conduct. The department placed Trooper Briggs on discretionary leave with pay on August 12, after the department opened an investigation into reported policy violations on August 11.It is the Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s policy to warn, suspend, demote or dismiss any employee whenever just or legal cause exists. Employees shall not commit any act that would reflect discredit upon themselves or the department while on or off duty.The video of the full interaction can be seen below. Other pest control companies have gone into COVID control too.Right now Ringlestetter says Truly’s charging about two hundred dollars an hour.Ringlestetter says, “Let's take a call center for instance, and you go in and it's ready to go and then you know there's somebody there and you're doing desktops and wiping down keyboards and, you know, creating hard surfaces on chairs then it could go relatively quickly we're moving around a lot of things and we're doing a lot of prep work in advance that, then, that certainly would slow it down.”The product does not have a long term germ killing effect but Truly Nolen’s working on a process that will because even if COVID-19 doesn’t last our extra interest in sanitizing probably will.“I would imagine that it's changed everyone's perception of how, how to protect yourself even against things like the common, the common cold or even the flu. ARLINGTON, Va. – Within an hour of a food bank’s opening came a delivery organizers have been counting on: frozen chicken by the pallet. “Two weeks ago, we began preparations for the future,” said Charles Meng, director of the Arlington Food Assistance Center in Virginia. Meng remembers the last time they encountered a sudden spike in need – right after 9/11. “We saw a very significant increase at that time,” he said. “And so, this is just that on steroids.” The center typically serves about 80,000 pounds of food to 2,400 families a week. One-third of those they help are children under 18, but the numbers are starting to climb. “We expect to see is many more of those families come to us. That's really going to be the first bump up,” Meng said. Like many food banks across the country, the economic conditions brought on by the coronavirus are stretching their resources and those of families all over the country. “It will last them until we come back on Friday and I don’t have to worry about what they’re eating,” said one parent, Sarah Baldrick, who was in Ohio picking up food, during a distribution at a local school there. There is some cause for concern, though, when it comes to food bank donations. So far, the food assistance center says they are still getting help from corporations, companies and individuals. However, they are seeing trouble from some supermarkets. “That amounts, in our case, to about 40-percent of the food we distribute -- have all but dried up,” Meng said of the food bank’s supermarket donations. “So, we're going to have to significantly increase the purchasing of food for our families.” That means they now have to count on monetary donations to buy food for those in need, at a time when people’s pocketbooks are taking a hit. “I'm relying on the generosity of this community,” Meng said. “We all have a need to survive this time.” It is a time that’s now filled with uncertainty.For more information on the Arlington Food Assistance Center, 2004

  

Cheetos-flavored mac 'n cheese is hitting the shelves this weekend.The company that makes Cheetos, Frito Lays, announced on Wednesday the launch of Cheetos Mac 'n Cheese, which will be sold exclusively at Walmart beginning on August 8.The cheesy-goodness product will available in three flavors: Bold & Cheesy, Flamin' Hot, and Cheesy Jalape?o."We've seen incredible culinary creativity from our Cheetos fans through the years, taking our product and using as an actual ingredient in recipes — whether at restaurants, or now more than ever, at home," said Rachel Ferdinando, SVP, CMO Frito-Lay North America in a press release. "Cheetos Mac 'n Cheese borrows that culinary inspiration to provide a mischievous mashup of an ordinary fan favorite. We're putting our orange-dusted fingerprints on an at-home staple at a time when home mealtime occasions are on the rise.""Beginning August 8, fans can pick up Cheetos Mac 'n Cheese in both single box and cup format at Walmart stores nationally or online," the company said.Consumers will have the option to purchase the single box or cup format for a suggested retail price of 98 cents.
