Mark Anthony Conditt, who police say was behind a wave of bombings in Austin and south-central Texas, killed himself early Wednesday in what investigators described as an explosion inside his car, leaving them scrambling to determine whether any bombs remain and if he acted alone.Federal agents went to the bomber's home Wednesday while police interviewed his roommates.Fred Milanowski, the special agent in charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' Houston office, said one room in the house had components for making similar bombs to the ones that exploded in a string of incidents this month. There was also similar homemade explosive material in the room.No finished bombs were found, he said.Conditt detonated a bomb in his vehicle before dawn on the side of Interstate 35 in Round Rock, north of Austin, as police approached him, authorities said.Even in announcing his death, though, police warned a wary public not to let down their guard."We don't know where this suspect has spent his last 24 hours, and therefore we still need to remain vigilant to ensure that no other packages or devices have been left throughout the community," Austin police Chief Brian Manley said. 1221

MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, Wy. (KGTV) — A man police say was captured on video taunting a bison at Yellowstone National Park this week has been arrested.Glacier National Park rangers arrested 55-year-old Raymond Reinke, of Pendleton, Ore., Thursday just after 10:30 p.m.In the video, a man is seen Tuesday in the middle of traffic approaching the bison. He begins the taunt the animal, which becomes visibly agitated and charges the man multiple times.After the footage was shared out, Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk called the man's behavior, "reckless, dangerous, and illegal," on Facebook, adding those who ignore rules for distancing themselves from wildlife risk their lives and threaten the park.Yellowstone requires visitors to keep at least 25 yards from animals like bison and elk, and 100 yards from bears and wolves.Tuesday's incident wasn't Reinke's first recent run-in with law enforcement either, according to police. He had reportedly been visiting multiple national parks over the last week.On July 28, he was arrested by law enforcement at Grand Teton National Park for drunk and disorderly conduct.He then traveled to Yellowstone, where his vehicle was stopped by rangers on July 31. He was cited as a passenger for failure to wear a seat belt, after rangers said he appeared drunk and argumentative, the park said.It's after this incident the park said they believed Reinke encountered the bison.Rangers investigating the video believed Reinke to be behind the incident and had his bond revoked and an arrest warrant issued.Rangers began searching for his vehicle, and he was located at Glacier National Park. Rangers there had received a call of two hotel guests creating a disturbance and identified one of the guests as Reinke.He was booked into Yellowstone Jail to await a scheduled court appearance Friday. 1842

MIDWAY, Utah — A locksmith in Utah says he was tipped off by something very strange at a recent job, which led to him helping a woman escape from a kidnapping.The woman signaled she needed help in a discreet way, and the locksmith called police."I would have been second guessing myself if I didn't do anything," said Greg, who didn't want his last name out there for safety reasons.He owns a locksmith business and described how a lot of jobs that come in are simple "locksmithing 101."It was that kind of simple job he thought he was doing on Friday at a home in Midway.When Greg showed up to re-key a lock on the front door, he says things seemed very off between the woman who lived in the home and a man who was with her."There was a gentleman that was kind of hovering over her, wouldn't get really more than a foot away from her," he said. He described the behavior as "shadowing," and said it was very weird.Greg went outside to his van to make new keys. When he stepped back inside the house, he says the woman gave Greg a sign she needed help."She's sitting there talking to me about what types of payment I take and everything, and she's kind of turning, she's at a little bit of a different angle and she's holding up her hand kind of like this with her palm open, and she has '911' written on her hand," Greg remembered. "So obviously, that drew some attention from me. But I was wearing a mask, so I couldn't mouth anything to her or anything."Greg also noticed that the woman had to ask the man to get access to her phone, in order to pay Greg over Venmo."That kind of was another little red flag," he said. "She's showing me the '911' again, kind of making sure that I saw it. And I made eye contact with her, to basically let her know that 'yeah, I saw it.'"Greg said it caused him turmoil and he didn't know what to do. He left and immediately called a friend he knows in the FBI to consult about what he saw. His friend told him to call police immediately, so Greg called the Wasatch County dispatch to report what he saw at the home.The Wasatch County Sheriff's Office responded and arrested Grant Nielsen Eggertsen on charges of aggravated kidnapping, interruption of a communication device and assault.According to charging documents and the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office, Eggertsen previously dated the woman and became upset that she was dating someone new.He had a key to the house, documents state, and showed up on Oct. 1, took the woman's phone, assaulted her and made threats to harm himself and burn down the woman's home.Documents state that Eggertsen kept the woman's phone, wouldn't let her call for help and wouldn't let her leave her room or house.It was the next day that Greg showed up for his appointment the woman had previously scheduled to change the locks. She told police she made the appointment before Eggertsen arrived because she didn't want him in the home."The lady was pretty smart to be able to do what she did," Greg said. "And so, it's not like I was trying to guess what was really going on. She gave me some great clues that there was an issue there."For a call that went beyond changing the locks, Greg got the job done."When found out that he had been arrested, charged and stuff, I was kind of like, 'Okay, good. Good. That's good,'" he said. LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A billboard calling for justice in the Breonna Taylor case was vandalized with red paint in Louisville..The public discovered the vandalism to the sign near the city’s Irish Hill neighborhood Tuesday morning, WLKY and WAVE report.However, by Tuesday afternoon, both TV stations say the paint had either been removed from the billboard or it had been replaced.The billboard is one of several erected in the Kentucky city by Oprah Winfrey and her magazine, which featured Taylor on its September issue. She was the first person other than Oprah herself to grace the cover.The signs feature a photo of the 26-year-old woman who was shot and killed by police in her home in March. They also have a call to action – “Demand that the police involved in killing Breonna Taylor be arrested and charged” – and encourage people to visit the website for Until Freedom, a social justice organization created to address systemic and racial injustice.Taylor died on March 13 after three Louisville police officers executing a search warrant used a battering ram to enter her home. The emergency room technician and her boyfriend were in bed. After a brief exchange, Taylor’s boyfriend reportedly fired his gun and then police fired shots, striking Taylor at least eight times. She died in the apartment hallway.Since Taylor’s death, protests have been held across the country, demanding that the officers involved be charged in her killing. Many celebrities other than Oprah have also used their platforms to call for action.For now, the shooting is under investigation by the FBI and Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.
