The jury in the trial of former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort did not reach a verdict after its first full day of deliberations.Just before 5 p.m. ET, jurors sent a note to Judge T.S. Ellis with four questions, including one asking him if he could "redefine" for them the meaning of "reasonable doubt," the legal threshold for acquitting a defendant. Ellis responded that the prosecutors had to prove their case not "beyond possible doubt," but beyond "doubt based on reason."Jurors also asked questions related to Manafort's tax filing and foreign bank account disclosure charges, including when a person is required to file a foreign banking disclosure, and the definition of "shelf" companies. The NCAA has announced Wednesday a series of major changes to college basketball in the hopes of eliminating corruption in the sport.The NCAA will now allow undergraduate students to participate in the NBA draft and return to school if they are not selected. Previously, players were allowed to attend the NBA combine but needed to withdraw 10 days prior to the draft in order to retain eligibility."Elite" high school prospects will now be permitted to be represented by an agent certified by the NCAA. According to CBS, USA Basketball will be tasked with choosing which prospects are considered "elite."The NCAA also announced major changes to the recruiting calendar, which the association hopes will allow recruits to attend more showcase events put on by high schools. Currently, apparel companies put on some of the most prestigious recruiting events.Finally, the NCAA will hold university presidents and chancellors personally accountable for their own athletics programs. The Justice Department is examining a possible crime related to bribing the White House with money in exchange for a presidential pardon.According to federal court documents, which were first obtained by CNN, over 50 digital devices, including iPhones, iPads, laptops, thumb drives, and computer drives, were seized via search warrants as part of the government's bribery-for-pardon investigation.The court documents reveal that the emails confiscated show a "secret lobbying scheme" between unnamed individuals who tried to secure a presidential pardon in exchange for a "substantial political contribution or reprieve of a sentence" for a redacted individual.According to the Associated Press, U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell, who unsealed the court documents Tuesday, granted the investigators access to the emails that were not protected by the attorney-client privilege.However, the 20-page court documents did not specify that a bribe was ever offered, accepted, nor does it name any individual or President Donald Trump, NBC News reported. 1055
