A 40-year-old Honduran woman who was apprehended early Monday morning near the border in Eagle Pass, Texas, has died in Customs and Border Protection custody, the agency announced.CBP said in a statement later Monday that the woman collapsed about 25 minutes after being apprehended, and that agents "quickly initiated emergency medical care." When officers arrived, they discovered sheet metal screws scattered across Interstate 10 West. In total, 36 passenger cars and three semis each had multiple flat tires."Wrecker response time was upwards to three hours for [motorists] waiting on tow trucks due to the number of calls for service," the Mississippi Highway Patrol said in a statement."Troopers assisted [motorists] with changing flat tires and providing lane safety" for those who were stranded.Courtney Beauvais was on her way home to Ocean Springs when she noticed that she had a flat. A man died when he was crushed by an elevator inside a Manhattan building Thursday morning.The 30-year-old man was on an elevator with two people inside the Manhattan Promenade on Third Avenue in Kips Bay around 8:45 a.m., sources say. When he got off, the man fell through a gap, and became lodged between the elevator door and the elevator shaft. The elevator then crushed him, sources said.The Manhattan Promenade is a mixed-use commercial and residential building.The victim's identity was not immediately released.It was not immediately clear if there were any violations or issues with the elevator. The building had been recently fined for unsafe elevator conditions, the NY Times reported.In a statement, the Department of Buildings said they are investigating the incident.“The Department of Buildings is investigating this incident aggressively and will take all appropriate enforcement actions.
