SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Rising temperatures are increasing the wildfire danger in San Diego County. Monday morning's fires near Webster are the third group of fires sparked by homeless people in a matter of months. Neighbors in the area say they are getting nervous. Edna Wallis has been living in her home for three years. As the weather heats up, she says the brush behind her home becomes a safety hazard. "I start rinsing the patio when the days are extremely hot and dry," says Wallis. "We rinse it, but it's not much."Less than five minutes from her home, a fire sparked off Home Avenue early Monday morning. Among brush and a lot of trash, crews worked to put out the flames that started inside of a homeless encampment. "I'm nervous. I'm very nervous because I'm very close to this area," says Wallis. "All of the neighborhood is dry."There have been other fires in the area as well. A homeless camp caught fire near I-805 and I-15 last week. A blaze also sparked in the same area in March. This fire slightly backed up traffic as crews work to put the flames out that started inside of a tent. The event allowed riders of all abilities to tour the 25 miles of the Bayshore Bikeway and the Coronado Bay Bridge. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Renters in San Diego are reacting with surprise, even anger, to a rental listing for what appears to be a backyard shed with an asking price of ,050 a month. The studio is located in the backyard of a home on Oregon Street in North Park, one of San Diego's most walkable neighborhoods. "I was amazed it was going for that much money," said Joe Moreno, who lives nearby. "Does it have plumbing? I mean, does it have facilities?"The answer is yes. Property Management, which is renting the unit, said he expected to get asking price. After all, a prior tenant rented it for ,100 a month for two years. The asking price is about 0 per month less than a typical North Park studio. Still, the listing alone is stirring emotions from renters.On Reddit, people called it ridiculous, and one joked they should rent out their walk-in closet if that unit can get ,050 a month.The studio does not include parking. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents wanting to take a hot shower at a La Jolla apartment complex could have to wait several days while crews work to repair a gas leak. The leak shut off hot water to three apartment buildings. Neighbors say they got a series of emails Saturday, one of them saying they wouldn’t have hot water for five to seven days. Residents say the issue is unacceptable. "I'm not getting in there, it's way too cold,” said Nick Imison. An email from his leasing company informed Imison he would be without hot water for about a week. Imison lives in the Regents La Jolla apartment complex. The email went on to say that their gas supply was shut off after crews found a gas leak. In the email, residents were told that if they need a shower during business hours, they need to stop by the office with an ID. “I was completely unacceptable for a complex that has about 600 units to just go hey yea you can come shower bring your id but it's only between the hours of nine and six,” Imison said. 10News reached out to the leasing company via email but have not heard back. In the email sent to residents, the company cites the need for several city and SDG&E required inspections before they can turn the gas back on. 1242

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diegans are feeling the effects of a winter storm moving through the county Thanksgiving weekend. The storm is expected to dump heavy rain along the coast and snow in the mountains.Heavy rain expected throughout San Diego CountyA flash flood watch was issued from late Tuesday night through Thursday evening. According to the National Weather Service, rainfall totals of two to three inches are possible, especially on coastal mountain slopes. Some areas could also see rainfall rates of half an inch per hour. "The threat for flash flooding is greatest in the mountains below 5,500 feet through Wednesday, below 4,500 to 5,000 feet for Wednesday night through Thursday, and on the lowest elevations of the mountains for Thursday evening," the agency said. Snow expected to impact travelA winter storm warning is in effect for the San Diego County mountains from 4 a.m. Wednesday through 10 p.m. Friday. The National Weather Service says snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected between 4,000 and 4,500 feet, 6 to 18 inches from 4,500 to 5,500 feet, and from 1 to 3 feet above 5,500 feet. Snowfall for lower elevations below 4,000 feet of 1 to 3 inches is also expected, mostly for late Thursday through Friday.Strong southwest winds of 50 to 70 miles per hour are also expected along ridges and desert slopes.
