SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue responded after a man reportedly got his hand stuck in an industrial tortilla press Thursday night.According to the department, the incident happened just after 5:30 at Tortillera La Perla on the 3100 block of National Avenue in San Diego.The man has been carried out of the factory, but a piece of the equipment is reportedly still stuck to the man's hand. Military base commuters can choose their carpool companion by searching through profiles to find travelers who live near them and work on base. Those who want to drive can use the app to offer rides and receive $.54 per mile for gas.“The San Diego region is home to one of the largest military populations in the nation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police have released a sketch of an attempted homicide suspect they say tried to rob a man at Emerald Hills Park last month.On July 11 at about 2 p.m., a 23-year-old man was at Emerald Hills Park when an unknown suspect tried to grab his cell phone from a park table. A fight started between the man and suspect before the suspect displayed a box cutter and told the man, "I am going to kill you," police said.The suspect stabbed the man in the left arm with the box cutter and strangled the man, before fleeing the scene. The suspect was last seen walking into a canyon near KeltonRoad and State Route 94.The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for the cut to his left arm requiring 18 staples.The suspect was described as a Black male, about 40 years old, standing about 6-feet tall, and weighing 170 pounds. He has a thin mustache and goatee, and had "Jaundice" or yellowing to the white portion of his eyes, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Right on the sanctuary walls of Christ Temple Apostolic Church in El Cajon, you will find a banner honoring our military and service. And service is a big part of the job for Bishop Donnie McGriff. “It’s not a job it’s not a profession. It’s a ministry. And that’s what I do. I love it,” says Bishop McGriff.And serve the Bishop has for nearly 60 years, starting right out of high school in the Navy. He served his community as a UPS driver. And for over 30 years, he has served in what he calls his ultimate role as the leader of his church. What was his calling?“I think I found out at an early age that my purpose or destiny was to serve,” says Bishop McGriff with a smile.The Bishop serves in so many ways with his congregation. They collect food for the less fortunate. He even founded a Christian based University focusing on Theology and Entrepreneurship. But the military has always been very close to Bishop McGriff’s heart.
