SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A partnership with the United Way and the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council pulled off a donation drive-through at SDCCU Stadium Tuesday morning that served 500 families in need.Cars holding vouchers from the various unions represented by the council lined up and proceeded through the assembly line, loading up with food and toys donated by their fellow workers.Every year, thousands of union workers make a monthly donation from their paychecks to assist their fellow working families and community members in need. This year's recipients included fire victims and other families identified by several non-profit partners, according to representatives with the Labor Council."You've got electricians and teachers out here helping school bus drivers and janitors and security guards, those who have fallen on hard times and need a little extra help," says Keith Maddox with the Labor Council.Holding two events, one in San Diego and the other in Imperial County, 650 families total were served by the annual donation drive.Feeding San Diego helps procure the food for the drive, according to Unions United/United Way of San Diego County President and CEO Nancy Sasaki. 1209

According to officials with the base, the individual is currently in quarantine in accordance with the CDC guidelines at his home. "Personnel that the individual had close contact with have been notified and are in self-isolation at their residence," officials say. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A sailor was critically injured by a rotating helicopter blade at MCAS Camp Pendleton this week, officials announced Friday.The sailor was struck by a spinning UH-01Y Venom tail rotor blade while the aircraft was on deck Wednesday just after 6 p.m., officials said.The service member was brought to a San Diego hospital after the incident and was in critical condition Friday.Officials did not name the sailor but said they are assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.An investigation has begun, though no additional details were made available. 573

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man was arrested after the mother of a three-year-old girl called the San Diego Police and said her daughter was kidnapped and inappropriately touched by her neighbor.Police say the ordeal happened just before 10 a.m. Saturday, on Maple Street near Oak Park Elementary School.Two uncles spoke with 10News off camera, saying they heard their cousin "making a fuss" about her window being broken into, the same bedroom where their niece was taking a nap."He snatched her from the window... Three minutes to ten minutes that she was in there," one uncle said.When the girl was back home, the uncles said she seemed upset and reserved. Once she started talking, and the family had an idea of what may have happened, emotions boiled over."My cousin just went in for the shine like the first shot he made him bleed like I think he cracked his nose," he said his sister pulled them apart, and the man ran off.Blood stains were visible on the concrete outside. "Something had to be wrong with him, for him to balls up and come through a window with like ten people in the house," he said. The family knew the neighbor was mentally ill but did not think to this extent.The toddler and her parents then went to the hospital to get "a rape kit, just make sure everything’s fine, and we don’t exactly know what happened to her she saying that she was touched."The incident happened right across the street from Oak Park Elementary School, where students will come back to class August 28th. The San Diego Police Sex Crimes Unit is investigating the incident. 1635
