A trip to "The Happiest Place On Earth" turned into a nightmare, according to an Inland Empire woman who spent two nights at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. Ivy Eldridge was a guest at the hotel back in April, when she claims she was bitten by bed bugs, suffering physical, financial and emotional damages, according to a complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Eldridge has hired attorney Brian Virag, who specializes in bedbug litigation, to bring a lawsuit against the hotel, along with the Walt Disney Co. and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Virag claims that Eldridge was bitten all over her upper body, including her face, ears, arm, neck and back. "People put trust in the Disney name and pay top dollar to stay at the Disneyland Hotel," Virag said. "In this case, Ms. Eldridge's trust was betrayed." Virag is also currently representing Victoria's Secret model Sabrina Jales St. Pierre, in a bed bug related lawsuit being brought against Embassy Suites Palm Desert. "Bed bugs don't discriminate," Virag said. "They are found in hotels throughout the country and worldwide. A Virginia man says he was fired from his job at a shipyard for refusing to remove a hat supporting President Donald Trump. The Virginian-Pilot reports that Dave Sunderland was fired last week from Newport News Shipbuilding. The private firm builds the nation’s aircraft carriers and some of its submarines. Sunderland said the human resources department said he violated a policy that bars yard workers from “campaigning” while on the job. Sunderland wore the hat as he walked from his car to his work area inside the gates, and sometimes during a safety meeting at the beginning of his shift. A task that once took days has been reduced to hours, thanks to the use of drones and laser technology.The Scripps Institution of Oceanography is mapping the shoreline of San Diego's coast  to study beach and cliff erosion. The new technology, paid for by the California State Parks and the Army Corps of Enginners, has made that task much easier."This is allowing us to get a more comprehensive view of the beach and the cliffs," says lead researcher Adam Young.Young and his team will drive the entire coast from La Jolla to Oceanside twice a year. They're using a laser enhanced camera and a drone to create a 3D map of the coast. Over time, they'll be able to compare the maps and see where and how the beach is eroding."We're going to have to start looking to the future," Young says. "And we're not going to be able to prepare properly unless we collect data and understand what's happening now."In addition to the twice yearly studies, Young says they'll look at sand levels after storms and at how sand moves throughout the year.Young says it can help predict what areas of the cliffs are susceptible to collapse. 1139

A video of a woman who was allegedly resisting arrest while being beaten by police officers on a New Jersey beach on Saturday has been shared 1,000s of times since being published. Emily Weinman, a resident of Philadelphia, claimed that officers questioned her about underage drinking while she was on a beach in Wildwood, New Jersey. Weinman claimed that she was given an alcohol breath test, which came back negative. Weinman added in a Facebook post that the officers from the Wildwood, New Jersey Police were going to let her go, but when she asked officers why they were enforcing underage drinking rather than more serious crimes, that is when the officers had a change of heart. Weinman said that officers asked for her to identify herself, which she refused to do. Weinman claims an officer said, "I was gonna let you go but now I'll write you up." 894
