Donald Glover has revealed he and his partner Michelle White have welcomed a third son into their family, according to an interview he gave GQ magazine. The actor, musician, director and writer is famously private. The admission came during an interview with "I May Destroy You" star Michaela Coel for GQ magazine“You know I had (a kid) during the coronavirus,” Glover tells Coel.“I was in the hospital bed. My son had just been born, like, an hour before and I was watching the George Floyd video. It was such a weird moment. It was such an intense, weird moment, because I’m watching that video and it’s like eight minutes long, so you’re sitting there and I had just had this amazing, joyful, expanding moment, plus my dad had passed away recently, so [my son] was named after my father... I don’t even know what, really, the word is to describe it. It was just expanding: the empathy and compassion and the terror and the joy of it.”Glover and White have three sons; Legend was born in 2016, Drake in 2018, and now Donald in 2020. His father, Donald Glover Sr., died in 2018.Glover and Coel talked about a variety of topics in their interview, including current and past projects, being Black in the television industry, racial justice, and a shared passion for writing. 1281
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KGTV) — Three U.S. citizens were arrested and 52 people were taken into custody in two smuggling attempts in the El Centro area early Friday. The first incident occurred just after 5 a.m., according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. A remote video surveillance system reported a stake bed truck and van suspected of smuggling near the border wall west of Mount Signal Road. Agents responded and stopped the truck as it traveled toward Highway 98, but the van continued on, CBP said. The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old U.S. citizen, admitted he was transporting individuals illegally in the rear cargo area of the truck. The truck was carrying 37 people, 36 adult Mexican nationals and one adult Guatemalan national, who were hiding under a black tarp in the truck bed, CBP said.RELATED: Leader of San Diego, Baja California maritime smuggling ring arrestedSoon afterward, the van that agents spotted earlier and followed was stopped. The driver and passenger, both U.S. citizens, were placed under arrest and 15 people, all adult Mexican nationals, were found in the back of the van, CBP said. The three U.S. citizens were charged with alien smuggling. Dozens of senators attempted to take swipes at Mark Zuckerberg in his debut on Capitol Hill. None appeared to land a significant blow. The Facebook CEO formally apologized to Congress on Tuesday for mistakes that led to the Cambridge Analytica scandal and stressed that his company is rethinking its responsibility to users and society."It's clear now that we didn't do enough to prevent these tools from being used for harm as well. That goes for fake news, foreign interference in elections, and hate speech, as well as developers and data privacy," Zuckerberg said in opening remarks before a joint hearing of the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees. 665
During his questioning of Judge Amy Coney Barrett during Supreme Court nomination hearings on Tuesday, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham championed Barrett's nomination as a win for conservative, pro-life women."This hearing to me is an opportunity to not punch through a glass ceiling, but a reinforced concrete barrier around conservative women. You're going to shatter that barrier," Graham said."This is history being made, folks. This is the first time in American history that we've nominated a woman who's unashamedly pro-life and embraces her faith without apology."Barrett has mostly avoided sharing her personal political views and her views on hot-button court topics. However, Barrett did say Monday that she did not believe that the statute set in Roe v. Wade — the case that gave women the right to seek an abortion — was not a "superprecedent" that was beyond consideration of being changed.Barrett has issued legal opinions in the past in favor of limiting abortion. She's also a practicing Catholic — a church that is ardently against abortion — and The New York Times reports that she signed an anti-abortion ad in 2006.President Donald Trump has said in the past that he would only nominate judges that he believed would be committed to overturning Roe v. Wade and the Affordable Care Act. 1323
