You can look literally anywhere: film, TV, Instagram, magazines, video games and see skinny women. Other body types are absolutely underrepresented in media and it causes women with those body types to feel less than... to feel like they’re not good enough.? ? I want to encourage anyone who felt the need to leave any of the above comments to dig deeper, self-reflect, gain some perspective, learn. Lending a helping hand is what Stephen Peth loves to do. Peth spends a lot of his time in the rehabilitation unit at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, helping wounded warriors get back on their feet. "The job is basically to do whatever we can to help the therapist," Peth explains. At 72 years old, Peth couldn't imagine any other way to spend his time. “I could be out on a golf course doing something for me, but to be here and be working for these wonderful service people that are here for a variety of reasons, to me, that’s inspirational,” he says. Peth says he’s inspired by all the patients he sees, because, he too, was once a warrior wounded in combat. "This is the boot that I was wearing the day that I got shot," he says. In 1967, 11 months into his tour during the Vietnam War, Peth, an army rescue helicopter pilot, was attacked by gunfire. "We took 39 hits on the aircraft,” he recalls. “I took a round through my boot and took a round though my arm." That dangerous mission earned him one of the highest awards of valor. "Gen. Craton Abrams came out and pinned a Silver Star on me," he says.His award and scars serve as reminders that he was once where these war heroes are now, compelling him find a way to serve his country once more. 1305

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Robert Wiggins is studying agriculture business and education. It’s a path he didn’t expect for himself because he never saw ranchers or farmers who looked like him. “Growing up in west Texas, I didn’t even like ag when I was a kid. It was a white man’s game, and we weren’t allowed to play,” Wiggins said. However, as Wiggins' family grew, he started to realize the importance of good nutrition and his passion for agriculture took root. “I had kids and community members that needed this. Our community – the African American community – suffers a lot from diabetes, cancers, diseases that could be controlled by eating habits. Jaqi Wright and Nikki Howard will tell you their new business is anything but a piece of cake. “Trying to get ahead of everything has been a challenge,” says Howard. Last month, the sisters started selling their homemade “furlough cheesecakes” as a way to help pay bills during the longest government shutdown in history. Thanks to word of mouth, their business, The Furlough Cheesecake, took off and hasn't slowed down. They even got a boost in business when Ellen DeGeneres surprised the sisters by having them on her show. Ellen gave them ,000 to help with their business. It didn’t stop there. They got another surprise this month from one of the largest companies in the world. “We found ourselves at Walmart, being able to present our cheesecakes for a tasting,” Howard says. The meeting and taste test went well with Walmart. “Their plans are to get us in the stores before the end of the year,” Wright says. “And she told us, ‘This doesn't happen. Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona had his two World Series rings stolen in Tucson last month.According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, on Nov. 7, deputies responded to the 6300 block of North Via Lomas De Paloma where they learned of the theft.PCSD then learned that the rings were sold to a sports memorabilia store in Phoenix.After further investigation, the rings were recovered. 411
