On Monday, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a new Public Health Disaster proclamation that imposes a number of additional public health measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. These new measures will be effective at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17 and will continue until 11:59 p.m. on December 10, 2020.The proclamation requires that when people are in an indoor public space, and unable to social distance for 15 minutes or longer, masks are required to be worn. (AP) — A worker doing an inspection on a popular central Florida thrill ride was killed Monday after falling more than 50 feet.Orange County Fire Rescue tweeted that firefighters responded to the Orlando StarFlyer ride early Monday after receiving a report that the 21-year-old man had fallen. The unidentified worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.The ride wasn’t moving at the time.At 450 feet, the Orlando StarFlyer is billed as the world’s tallest swing ride. One of the leading COVID-19 vaccine candidates produced virus antibodies in every patient tested in a trial conducted earlier this year, according to a report in the New England Journal of Medicine.The published results describe a successful Phase I testing for the vaccine, which is being produced by biotech company Moderna. The vaccine is currently in Phase II of testing, and Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that the vaccine would move to the third and final phase by the end of the month.According to the New England Journal of Medicine report, Phase I was conducted in 45 test subjects. Subjects were divided into three groups of 15, each of which was given different doses of the vaccine.Every subject received two shots, each administered 28 days apart.According to the New England Journal of Medicine, the vaccine "induced anti–SARS-CoV-2 immune responses in all participants."The Journal did note that half of the participants indicated they suffered from side effects that included "fatigue, chills, headache, myalgia, and pain at the injection site," most of which came after the second injection.
