SORRENTO VALLEY (KGTV): An 11-year old volunteer is proving that age doesn't matter when it comes to helping the hungry.Aiden Gruby has been volunteering at Feeding San Diego since he was six. His parents brought him as part of a family activity. He was hooked immediately."I think it’s really great. I love that feeling of helping people," he says.He loved it so much that his family started coming every week. When Aiden turned 10, Feeding San Diego asked him to become a team leader.Typically, the organization waits until people are 13 before they can take a leadership role.As a leader, Aiden helps with orientation and rules. He also directs volunteers as they sort food."I’m just so proud of him wanting to give back to our community," says mom Janessa Gruby. "There are kids who would rather spend their weekend playing sports, or playing video games, and he has asked us to come every weekend."Aiden says his favorite part of the job is "reclamation," which is the process of checking all incoming food for package integrity, expiration date and then sorting it by category.He has no plans to slow down any time soon."I think it’s really good to help people in need of food," he says. South Korea said Saturday that North Korea has accepted its proposal to hold high-level inter-Korean talks next week.In a statement, South Korea's Unification Ministry said the talks are planned for Thursday.The talks were first proposed by South Korea to be held in the Panmunjom truce village in the Korean Demilitarized Zone.North Korea said it will be represented by a three-member delegation led by Ri Son Kwon, chairman of the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland Committee.South Korea stated earlier that its three-member delegation will be led by Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon.The announcement came a day after South Korean President Moon Jae-in teased the possibility of another meeting, this one among the United States, North Korea and South Korea.Moon said negotiations are continuing ahead of the "historic talks" planned for next month with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. He's expected to meet with Kim in April, the first time the North Korean leader has publicly met with a foreign head of state."Through these talks and future talks, we must end the nuclear and peace issue on the Korean Peninsula. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis announced Florida will enter Phase 3 of reopening the state's economy.Effective immediately, Gov. DeSantis announced Friday in his press conference in St. Petersburg that restaurants and select businesses can operate at full capacity.Phase 3 of Gov. DeSantis' "SAFE. SMART. STEP-BY-STEP PLAN" ensures Floridians that restaurants can reopen at a minimum 50% capacity if the local government prohibits them from reopening at full capacity.“Everybody has an opportunity and the right to work. Every business has the right to operate,” said Gov. DeSantis said.With Phase 3, Gov. DeSantis said he will no longer place limitations on businesses due to coronavirus concerns."There will not be limitations from the state of Florida," Gov. DeSantis said.The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) President and CEO Carol Dover said the pandemic has caused 336,000 people in the industry to lose their jobs.“The effects on the local and state economy have been significant. I want to thank Governor DeSantis and DBPR Secretary Halsey Beshears for their support as we have navigated this unprecedented time and for allowing us the opportunity to get back to work,” Dover said in a press release.The announcement comes just days after bars and breweries were allowed to reopen in Florida.Florida's top business regulator Halsey Beshears announced just 15 days ago that the state is rescinding Executive Order 20-09. The California Office of Emergency Services said Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters were used for the rescues that began Saturday night and continued overnight.
