BEIJING, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The global financial crisis is an austere test of the nation and the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC), and every Party member and official should work for economic growth, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Thursday.     Wen, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, said at a Party conference of the central and state agencies, "The world is experiencing the sort of financial crisis that has rarely been seen before, which has seriously affected our economy."     He called for confidence to achieve stable and relatively fast economic and social development.     He urged all Party members and officials to have a strong sense of responsibility and mission.     "Party members and officials must be a model of clean governance," he said. The people's trust needed to be won by sharing their trials.     In addition, Wen urged Party members and officials to avoid using public authority for personal interests and privilege.     "Be politically staunch, good in work style, and strictly disciplined. Work hard for the people, fulfill your duties, and be honest and clean," the premier said.

BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and visiting Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Wednesday agreed to establish comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.     Wen told Rasmussen during their talks that both sides shared strong desire to lift the level of the bilateral mutually-beneficial cooperation, since the Sino-Danish relations had become more mature after experiencing 58 years' development.     Denmark was one of the first western nations to recognize the People's Republic of China, and the two peoples enjoyed profound friendship, Wen noted.     China applauded Denmark's adherence to one-China policy, and was ready to work with the country to increase mutual trust, expand cooperation in science, technology, environmental protection, energy, innovation, culture and other areas, he said. BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao, who is also the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, wants Chinese soldiers to adopt core military values.     The traditions include loyalty to country and its people, devotion to their career and upholding military glory.      Hu made the remarks in a recent meeting with senior military leaders in Beijing.     Those values should serve as a strong spiritual force for the soldiers to achieve all-round development and should guide them when implementing their missions, he said.     Hu added, soldiers should serve the people wholeheartedly and put people's interests above everything.

ATHENS, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao finished the last leg of his five-nation trip here on Wednesday and embarked on his way home.     The trip, which began on Nov. 14, took him to a financial summit in Washington and the Economic Leaders' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Lima.     He also paid state visits to Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru and Greece.     At the Washington summit, the Chinese leader outlined China's propositions on responding to the international financial crisis, explained major measures adopted by the Chinese government to ensure financial stability and economic development, and made proposals on reforming the international financial system.     At the APEC meeting, President Hu made proposals on furthering Asia-Pacific regional cooperation in dealing with the world financial crisis, the Doha Round of WTO negotiations, food and energy security, and other pressing issues facing the world and the region.     During his state visits to Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru and Greece, the Chinese president and leaders of the four nations exchanged views on the further development of bilateral relations and reached broad consensus on expanding friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation.     In Lima, Hu and his Peruvian counterpart Alan Garcia announced the conclusion of a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) and the upgrading of bilateral ties to a strategic partnership.
