With the new systems, do customers end up tipping more?  An automatic tipping system called Toast says since 2017, quick service restaurants using their system have received tips on nearly 60 percent of credit card orders, compared to 28 percent previously.    "The basic idea is to make it very easy for you, very convenient for you, and create an expectation that this is a norm,” says Dr. Kevin Masters, a professor at CU Denver. “And this is what’s usually done."   Dr. Masters says the psychology behind the process is to cause stress for customers, which makes them tip no matter how much they decide.   "These ones where you are at a coffee shop or taxi places like that, you're given this automatic tip, especially if there is a line behind you there is a pressure," he says.   If you think you're the only one who feels awkward in this situation, you're not alone. Nathan, who works as a barista, says the feeling is mutual. But he does believe he gets tipped more with automatic tipping screens.    Dr. Master's says whether or not you tip, it's all psychological with the pressure you feel."Most of us, I think, would rather just get it over with,” he says. “So, if it costs me a few more cents on this cup of coffee, [no] big deal."    1427

Zachary Cruz left a dog boarding facility in Greenacres, Florida on Sunday with a dog named Coby in his arms. Coby is one of two family dogs he plans to take to his new home in Virginia.Back on Valentines Day, Cruz's adopted brother Nikolas killed 17 students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. "A lot of things I wish I would have done to prevent it, wish I could have stopped him somehow," Zachary said.Zachary said he and his brother fought a lot when they were younger though their relationship improved as they grew.RELATED: More Parkland coverage "I felt I was too hard on him at times. He was a fragile person. Mom was always there for him," added he said.A judge on Friday gave Zachary permission to move from South Florida. after "recent developments in the investigation have led investigators to believe the children may now be in danger."The Stafford County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) says it is searching for Melody Bannister and her four children, who were last seen in Moulton, Alabama on Aug. 20.According to the SCSO, Bannister told deputies in June that her children had been abused by a family member. Child Protective Services later determined the allegations were unfounded, but before the investigation ended, Bannister and her four children left Virginia for a planned vacation to Alabama. They never returned.The Stafford County Juvenile Domestic and Relations Court eventually granted custody of the children to their father. Bannister petitioned the court in Alabama and requested that custody be issued to her there, but courts ordered her to return her children to the father in Virginia.Bannister did not comply and was last seen in Alabama on Aug. 20.
