(AP) — JPMorgan Chase says it will extend billions in loans to Black and Latino homebuyers and small business owners in an expanded effort toward fixing what the bank calls “systemic racism” in the country’s economic system. The bank said it is committing billion over the next five years toward programs that include earmarking more money for getting Black and Latino families into homeownership and providing additional financing to build affordable rental housing units. On the same day, students at Sage Creek High School read letters of appreciation to their loved ones. One student wrote his message to his older sister who survived the shooting in Thousand Oaks. Teenagers are not known to pour out their feelings. But for Sage Creek High School students, it is a requirement for their English class. As part of a senior assignment called "Project Gratitude," students expressed their thanks to those who helped shape their lives. They were to write a letter, call the recipient, and reflect. “I know I don’t show it often, but I’m so proud to have you as my mom,” Izabella Razmi said. CHICAGO (AP) -- A federal judge has ruled Attorney General Jeff Sessions cannot follow through with his threat to withhold public safety grant money to Chicago and other so-called sanctuary cities for refusing his order to impose tough immigration policies.U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber on Friday granted Chicago's request for a temporary "nationwide" injunction. The 76-year-old La Russa has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge to resolve misdemeanor drunken driving charges stemming from his arrest nearly 10 months ago on a freeway in metro Phoenix. (CNS) -- A federal warrant was served Wednesday at YouTube star Jake Paul's home in Calabasas.The warrant was being served in connection with an ongoing investigation, said Laura Eimiller of the FBI's Los Angeles office.No arrests are planned, Eimiller said.
