GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The City of Garfield Heights and the Garfield Heights Police Department are facing an excessive use-of-force lawsuit after the Jan. 23 arrest of 28-year-old Kenta Settles.According to Garfield Heights police bodycam video obtained by WEWS, Settles, an unarmed black man, was punched, kicked and stunned with a Taser while he was on the ground, as police attempted to handcuff him.Jeremy Tor, the attorney representing Mr. Settles, Partner with Spangenberg, Shibley & Liber LLP, said officers taunted and used profanity on Settles as he laid on the ground handcuffed. 604

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Henrico Police are working to identify a woman who allegedly punched a teenage McDonald's employee in the face after the employee failed to put ketchup on her sandwich.The alleged assault took place at the White Oak McDonald's in eastern Henrico County.The victim's mom said that the woman approached her daughter and instigated a fight after she did not put ketchup on the woman's sandwich."She asked my daughter if she had a problem, and my daughter said, 'No, I have no problem,'" the victim's mother said. GREEN BAY, Wisc. — A man was arrested for his seventh OWI after police say he threw stolen beer and meat out of his van with officers in pursuit. The Brown County Sheriff's Office received a call from a supermarket that Timothy Andrews, who was on their watch list for retail theft, was in the store. Authorities spotted Andrews inside a van in the parking lot and deputies say he claimed to have knives and gun when they approached him.Andrews refused to get out of the van, according to investigators, and sped away from the deputies, throwing stolen beer, meat and clothing out of the window during the high-speed chase. Authorities say the van lost control at least twice during the chase, as it weaved in and out of oncoming traffic on busy streets. "Pursuits are always a balance. You're always trying to balance public safety with the apprehension of the person. And in this case, this man was doing a lot of things," Brown County Sheriff's Capt. Dan Sandberg said. The van finally spun out of control and stopped on a residential street where the suspect was arrested. Andrews, 48, faces several charges in the case including 7th offense OWI, probation violation, obstructing an officer, shoplifting and retail theft.   1280

A public health expert says it depends on what precautions your gym is taking.“The fact is that the gyms don't spread disease,” said Dr. Jay Wolfson, a public health professor at the University of South Florida. “The people within them who are coming into the gym and not cleaning up after themselves and are not maintaining social distances, and the gym staff, if they're not being attentive and conscientious in terms of disinfecting, are the ones who are aiding a abetting the spread of the disease.”There's evidence showing coronavirus can be spread through aerosol and droplets. Those droplets can float in the air long enough to be inhaled. And they could travel more aggressively when we’re working out.“Just as when you yell and scream, and you'll be sweating, and you'll be hyperventilating sometimes, so those droplet nuclei are going to come out, which means the larger particles are going to rest on some of the equipment as well as in the air,” said Wolfson.Wolfson says it may be hard to monitor gyms across the country because the rules in certain cities and states are different. And it's hard to know if a case is tied to a gym.A Norwegian university looked at whether workout facilities played a role in the spread. It didn't find any cases in people who went to the gym and took proper precautions.Researchers said going to the gym is relatively safe in areas where there aren't many infections. 1509
