(KGTV) — Back to school time usually means it's time for a new backpack.Nowadays there are tons of choices in how kids can lug around their belongings. Rolling backpacks, shoulder sling options, or the traditional two-strap pack. But which one is right for them?Will it support their back? Stay together through the school year? Does it look good? These are some of the questions parents grapple with in the middle of shopping aisles.MORE: 10News back to school resources for parentsA study by UC San Diego researchers found that children commonly carry about 10 to 20 percent of their body weight in backpacks, which is also the limit recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.UCSD researchers tested the correlation between backpack weight and a child's back pain. They tested a group of 8 children and measured spinal pressure at three different amounts of backpack weight meant to mimic 10, 20, and 30 percent of their weight.They found that as the weight of the backpack load increases, back pain in children increases and spinal disc height shrinks as lumbar asymmetry grows.Which brings us back to the original question: How do you make sure a backpack is right for a child? Shoulder straps should be wide and padded to help distribute the pack's weight evenly, according to the website Healthy Children. Abdominal straps also help distribute weight across the waist, hips, and back.It's also recommended not to wear backpacks on only one shoulder, which shifts all that weight and leads to neck and back pain.Wearing it rightThe top of a backpack should sit one to two inches below the top of the shoulders. (CNN) -- Police in Tennessee arrested a man named Tupac A. Shakur, 40, after they say he pulled a knife on them and was found with methamphetamine.Officers with the Johnson City Police Department, about 25 minutes from Bristol, received calls Friday about Shakur who had active warrants for his arrest from another department, according to a news release from Johnson police.When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a car with Shakur inside. Officers attempted to arrest Shakur, but he pulled away and reached for his waistband, the release said.Shakur then turned toward officers with a knife before officers took him down. Officers found a syringe and baggies of meth on Shakur, the release said.Shakur was charged with aggravated assault, simple meth possession and having unlawful drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a ,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned Monday, the release said.It was not clear Sunday whether Shakur has legal representation.Shakur shares the same name, even the same middle initial, as the late rapper Tupac Shakur who was killed in September 1996 at age 25. 1144

(KGTV) -- DoorDash announced Thursday that the information of 4.9 million users was affected by a data breach. The company said in a blog post that 4.9 million consumers, Dashers and merchants who joined before April 5, 2018 were affected. According to DoorDash, profile information including names, email addresses, delivery addresses, order history, phone numbers and hashed, salted passwords were accessed during the breach. The company says the last four digits of payment cards and bank accounts were also compromised for some consumers, delivery workers and merchants, but full credit card and banking information was not accessed. For 100,000 Dashers, driver’s license numbers were also accessed, the company said. DoorDash says it’s in the process of notifying those affected. (CNN) -- Target's revamped loyalty program is ready for its nationwide debut.Target Circle will be available to shoppers in the United States beginning October 6. Program perks include earning 1% on Target purchases, personalized deals and early access to its sales. The launch follows an 18-month test in six cities that garnered 2 million members.The expansion of the loyalty program complements Target's branded credit card, Redcard, which only a quarter of its customers use. It also replaces Cartwheel, a separate discount program, in an attempt to offer a "more seamless, intuitive shopping experience."The program is free. Target will begin automatically enrolling members that have Target.com and Redcard accounts. To use it, customers can swipe a barcode from the Target app or provide their phone number at checkout.The company has said earlier this year that Target Circle also gives the company more data about shopping habits. For example, if Target knows a shopper frequently buys diapers and baby products, it could email the customer an offer for diapers."This will help Target build a more complete picture of shoppers," said Neil Saunders, managing director at GlobalData Retail previously told CNN Business.
