INDIANAPOLIS – An employee at an Indianapolis Target Starbucks has been fired after posting a video on TikTok showing a fake “Blue Lives Matter” drink with what looked to be bleach.The video shows a Starbucks employee with a cup that reads “Blue Lives Matter.” The barista says, “First, we’re going to start with bleach all the way to the third line,” and pours a liquid into the cup. They put ice in the cup and say, “Because cops love ice,” then add a red mixture saying, “Then a little blood of innocent black men.” They have since been fired, a Target spokesperson said.Since the Starbucks was inside a Target, all hiring and management decisions are done by the Target. A Target spokesperson said they don’t believe actual bleach was ever used, just milk and water. They also said the drink in the video wasn’t served to anyone.Target’s full statement is below:“This video is appalling and unacceptable. We don’t tolerate this behavior at Target, want all guests to be treated with respect and have terminated the team member who was responsible. We also have rigorous food safety procedures in place, which this team member egregiously violated with this behavior. DENVER, Colorado — Cloud seeding can provide between 5% and 15% more snow to help ski areas, farmers and watersheds in the state, supporters say. "These observations show us that cloud seeding does work," said University of Colorado researcher Katja Friedrich, who has studied cloud seeding inside and outside of a laboratory. She worked with scientists who flew planes near moisture-rich clouds and injected them with silver iodide, a substance that causes moisture to become heavy and fall to the ground as snow. On a radar image, she pointed outlines of snow that later formed. The visible lines matched the pattern the cloud seeding plane had flown in the sky. Cloud seeding in Colorado aims to produce more snow, not rain. Friedrich said it's difficult to quantify how much additional snow is created. Cloud seeding doesn't make more clouds, but supporters believe it gets more snow out of an approaching storm. Planes can be used to seed approaching storm clouds. Ground seeders use propane to heat the air and also used in the mountains and Western Slope. Silver iodide is then added to the warmed air as it rises. The moisture, already in the clouds, bonds to the silver iodide. When it becomes heavy, it falls to the ground as snow. Cloud seeding has been happening for about 70 years in Colorado but is slowed in years when there is heavy snowfall. Cloud seeders operated during the 2018-2019 winter but slowed in places where significant snowpack accumulated. A man who owns a cloud seeding company on the Western Slope said the technology works well. Cloud seeder's viewpoint Cloud seeders dot highpoints in Colorado from the west to central part of the state. Ski areas hire Eric Hjermstad's Western Weather Consultants company to cloud seed early in the season, so there's more natural snow before opening day. He continues seeding until mid-April. Exterminators are finding COVID control’s a growing new business.Businesses are getting more aggressive about keeping space for workers and customers sanitized and safe.Truly Nolen Pest Control realized it already had an effective COVID killer it had been using to clean up after rat infestations.Mark Ringlestetter with Truly Nolen says, “So at that point, we decided to build a program that would be good for sanitizing surfaces.”So Truly Nolen worked out procedures for a program called Truly Sanitized, developed training and pushed out a new product. Other pest control companies have gone into COVID control too.Right now Ringlestetter says Truly’s charging about two hundred dollars an hour.Ringlestetter says, “Let's take a call center for instance, and you go in and it's ready to go and then you know there's somebody there and you're doing desktops and wiping down keyboards and, you know, creating hard surfaces on chairs then it could go relatively quickly we're moving around a lot of things and we're doing a lot of prep work in advance that, then, that certainly would slow it down.”The product does not have a long term germ killing effect but Truly Nolen’s working on a process that will because even if COVID-19 doesn’t last our extra interest in sanitizing probably will.“I would imagine that it's changed everyone's perception of how, how to protect yourself even against things like the common, the common cold or even the flu. CYPRESS, Calif. -- It’s Friday the 13th and finals week at Cypress College in Southern California. A chilling combination for some, but for other students it’s just another day at school. They’re studying for a career that’s not for everybody – but a career that will eventually impact just about everyone. These students are prepping for their final exams in mortuary science, a degree where they can make a living while dealing with death.“This is from what I’ve learned is a gasket casket,” said Karla Ruiz, a Cypress College mortuary science student. Ruiz has a goal of advancing her career from a local morgue to national security. “I’m really into watching a bunch of CIA stuff or like crime stuff,” she said. “So, I want to find something that can open the door for that.” Cypress College is one of about 60 colleges across the country that offer this kind of end-of-life education. It may seem like a grim career choice, but the mortuary science industry is now attracting different kind of demographics. “As far as male female it’s certainly changed,” said Damon de la Cruz, Cypress College mortuary science assistant professor. “It wouldn’t be hard for us to see in a graduating class of 20 something like three males and 17 females. It’s really shifted in that direction.” It’s a direction where there’s now a growing demand for qualified workers. “There’s not enough students to meet the demand of the community,” de la Cruz said. “As result of that many of our students are placed or they get hired before they even graduate.” The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the median annual wage for morticians, undertakers and funeral directors is more than ,000 a year. Funeral service managers can make closer to ,000. “I’ve been in this industry for a long time and I’ve had many opportunities presented to me to where I’ve grown, been able to afford a house, and be able to live comfortably in southern California,” said Harbor Lawn Mortuary funeral director Michael Roudebush. Roudebush has hired several Cypress College students through the years. He says a career in mortuary science can be financially rewarding but also emotionally draining “Empathetic and compassionate people are what we’re always looking for,” Roudebush said. “We are people too and we’ve been through what the families have been through. We all experience loss.” Back on the college campus, students like Ruiz are gaining an understanding of death that they can use for a lifetime. She says that after studying death, she now appreciates life more. “Ever since doing this I’m closer to my family,” she said. “I actually want to go home and hang out with them.”A celebration of life that comes from knowing exactly what others have lost. 2746

After previously being paused amid the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 theme park ticket sales and hotel reservations resume July 9.Disney begins its phased reopening on Saturday, July 11. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom reopen first, with EPCOT and Hollywood Studios following on July 15.Ahead of the reopening, Disney paused new ticket sales and hotel bookings to focus on existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders.According to a press release, tickets and hotel bookings may be released at different times Thursday. Disney is using an online reservation system to open safely and manage park attendance. Virtual waiting rooms will be used to manage the high volume of guests trying to buy tickets or book stays.Reservations are required for all guests to visit the parks, as well as a valid park ticket for the same park on the same date to enter. Make sure to check the part reservation availability before buying new tickets, then visit Disney's website to make your park reservations immediately after your new ticket purchase.New safety guidelines include:Temperature checks: All guests to the park will be screened by no-touch thermometers at Disney Springs or at the Walt Disney World theme parks. Park officials say anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry. Officials ask that you check you and your entire party's temperature before leaving you home.Parking: Complimentary transportation will also be provided between the guests' Disney Resort hotel and Disney theme parks. Face coverings are required at all times while boarding and using Walt Disney World transportation. Valet service is temporarily unavailable, with the exception of guests with disabilities.Face masks: Anyone over the age of 2 will be required to wear a face mask. Park guests are not allowed to wear costume masks.Social distancing: The parks will have signs and ground markings to help guests practice physical distancing.
