(KGTV)— A La Mesa woman, who was the victim of a recent burglary, is opening up to 10News about her frightening experience. 10News met the woman at her home, in a quiet, secluded neighborhood in La Mesa. In the last four years she and her family have lived in the house, they have always felt safe. Until last Saturday. “To see the figure of a stranger in your home is an absolute worst nightmare,” the woman said. La Mesa Police said at around 11 pm, an intruder came through the side entrance, opened her gate, and walked into the home through the sliding door. That is when the homeowner heard a thump.“I have a three-year-old son, and looked at the monitor, and made sure it wasn’t him. He was fine,” she said. 780

He was 77.A cause of death for Sayers was not listed in the Hall of Fame's statement, though he had been suffering from dementia for several years.After an All-America career at Kansas, Sayers was drafted fourth overall by the Bears in 1965. He made an immediate impact, scoring 20 offensive touchdowns and rushing for more than 800 yards. He quickly became known as one of the most dynamic players in the league with his swift speed and return ability.Throughout his career, Sayers rushed for 4,956 yards and averaged about five yards a carry. He was named first-team All-Pro during his first five seasons in the league and selected to four Pro Bowls.However, Sayers' career was beset by injury. He suffered from knee issues throughout his career, and injuries forced him to retire after just seven seasons in the league. He became the youngest inductee in the history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.Sayers' relationship with teammate Brian Piccolo was immortalized in the 1971 movie "Brian's Song." LAND O' LAKES, Fla. — Pasco County, Florida Sheriff's Office is investigating in incident where a Sunlake High School Resource Officer slammed a student during an arrest.PCSO says that the incident occurred Tuesday when the school administration requested the school resource officer, Rich Stackon, remove a student from the cafeteria.Leading up to the incident, school administrators asked the student to return to class several times before the SRO was called in. The student was reportedly skipping class and being disruptive.According to deputies, when the male SRO attempted to place the female student in custody she resisted arrest.In a video, recorded by another student, the SRO can be seen slamming the student to the ground after resisting. 784

(KGTV) -- A student shown in a video being thrown to the ground by a school resource officer at Helix High School during a disciplinary matter spoke out for the first time Tuesday.A video recorded by students show 17-year-old Brianna Bell being thrown to the ground while in handcuffs at the school.The incident was sparked after the officer was called to assist with the suspended student reportedly refusing to leave campus.VIDEO: Officer tackles handcuffed 17-year-old student to ground at Helix HS"The student became non-compliant on two separate occasions and made an attempt to free herself by pulling away from the officer," La Mesa Police Department officials wrote in a statement.
