BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — A priest in Bay Village says someone called police about a homeless person sleeping on a bench. It turns out it was actually a statue of Jesus.The sculpture was created by Timothy Schmalz, and depicts Jesus wrapped in a blanket and lying on a bench.Within 20 minutes of the sculpture's installation at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, police were called, according to the church's pastor, Alex Martin. He tweeted that an officer told him someone had called to report a homeless person sleeping on a park bench.Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland reached out to Bay Village police, who have not yet responded to a request for more information.According to the church's website, because Bay Village isn't impacted much by poverty, the statue is meant to remind residents how serious homelessness is in the world.The temporary installment will be on display until Dec. 1.The church is currently raising money to try and help the homeless. (KGTV) -- Deputies are investigating after gunshots rang out in Bonita overnight Sunday, leading to the detainment of 10 people.Authorities were called to the 5400 block of Robinwood Road after receiving reports of gunshots around 3:55 a.m. Sunday.After finding shell casings, nine residents were taken into custody. While checking the area, deputies heard 10 more shots being fired before a man, later identified as Salvador Barajas, 25, ran from the area.Following a brief search, Salvador was found by a K9 and taken into custody. Barajas was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked into jail for negligent discharge of a firearm. 693

BONSALL, Calif. (KGTV) - Horse trainers gathered for lunch in Bonsall, cherishing the friendships that blossomed from tragedy. Friday marked one year since the Lilac fire changed their lives."I knew a lot of people would be thinking about it, I knew it would be in the community also," Michele Dollase said that's why she organized the event.Shortly after 11 a.m., trainers trickled onto the cafe's balcony, trading smiles, and hugs. Dollase said today was also time to, "think about the horses we did lose, the people who risked their lives." "Everybody come back and not try to forget but try to go on with life," Martine Bellocq said sitting in a wheelchair. Dollase wanted them to know together they did everything they could to rescue racehorses on that dark day.
