SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) – Authorities have identified the victim and suspect after a man and a woman were found dead in a San Marcos home Monday. The Medical Examiner identified the victim as Michelle Johnson, 43, as the victim and Tiko Leal, 49, as the suspect. Deputies were called to the home on the 1000 block of Lanza Court early Monday morning after receiving reports of unknown trouble. Neighbors told deputies that two children, ages 10 and 11, were inside the home and afraid to come out. After entering the home, Johnson and Leal were found unresponsive with trauma to their bodies, according to the department. (KGTV) - Bedbugs, the bane of many homeowners, were discovered lurking inside several San Diego County buildings last week.10News was tipped off to a bedbug infestation at a county building: the Agricultural Weights and Measures building in San Marcos.The county confirmed to 10News, bedbugs were found there and another building from the same department in Kearny Mesa.  As for how it happened, a county spokesperson revealed only that an employee is the cause and public areas were not affected.Workers from the Agricultural Weights and Measures Department, which provides pest control for the county, have laid traps, monitored for bed bugs, and moved employees to a separate area.Garrett Thrasher is Vice President of Thrasher Pest Control.  He says the typical plan of attack could also involve K9 alerting, vacuuming, steam cleaning and sometimes chemical treatments."From there, it's weekly checks to make sure there is no new activity or complaint," said Thrasher.Thrasher says bedbug calls have been increasing over the last few months and are slightly up from the same time last year. 1161

(KGTV) - Months after the massive Equifax data breach, a North County couple got some heart-dropping news from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).    Jennifer, who asked 10News not to identify her full name, says her accountant was just about to e-file her taxes when she got the letter from the IRS."It said we needed to verify that we filed, and if we had not filed, we had to call them immediately to tell them we hadn't filed," said Jennifer.RELATED: Equifax finds additional 2.4 million impacted by 2017 breachIn short, someone had already filed in her name, raising the suspicions of IRS employees.    "You feel violated. It's scary," said Jennifer.Jennifer spent an hour on the phone with IRS caseworkers, who told her the red flags were immediate."The numbers for the deductions were off, but also the final number on the refund, which must have been way off," said Jennifer.RELATED: San Diego City Attorney announces lawsuit against Experian over massive data breachThe fraudulent tax filing comes almost seven months after the wide-ranging breach at the credit reporting company Equifax."We immediately and proactively froze our credit and then got letters saying both me and my husband had both been compromised," said Jennifer.While they have credit monitoring and froze their credit, that doesn't protect them from fraud, which is a form of identity theft. And if filing electronically, use a secure network."Tax time presents a perfect storm for scammers, from tax identity theft to imposter scams, consumers must stay vigilant and prepared. He had big, red, open sores throughout his scalp. It was really itchy." As a salesperson, Ostby is what the company calls a Market Partner.  "I have over 100 people in my downline -- customers and Market Partners. I reached up to my W-2 said five figures in those eight months in additional income. So realizing what was happening was a hard pill to swallow."Her decision to stop selling Monat didn't come easily."I was crying to my husband," she recalls. "I was vacuuming every day because I was losing so much hair. SEATTLE (AP) — One of two people hit by a man who drove his car onto a closed Seattle freeway and into a crowd protesting police brutality has died. A hospital spokeswoman said 24-year-old Summer Taylor of Seattle died Saturday evening at Harborview Medical Center.
