BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- The State Council, China's cabinet, has decided to remove or modify 314 administrative examination and approval items in order to further clear systematic obstacles for its social and economic development and curb corruption.
Previous reports said the reform was aimed at cleaning up China's over-regulated administrative approval system, which had led to unnecessary government intervention in small business.
The provincial meteorological station issued the red rainstorm alert Tuesday to warn of more heavy rains that are expected to hit four cities in the southern part of the province from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The regulations are expected to be put into effect in September after the government makes final revisions based on public suggestions.
But more cities recorded declining prices in August, with new home prices rising in 63 cities on a monthly basis, down from 70 in July.
