SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - As President Donald Trump threatens to shutdown the U.S.-Mexico Border, San Diego leaders are in Mexico City to strengthen economic ties and talk binational business.Five mayors and nearly 100 elected officials, business and community leaders from San Diego and Baja California left for Mexico Sunday for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 14th annual Binational Delegation to Mexico City.San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer said the top two issues up for discussion are the continuing Mexican sewage runoff problems that impact our beaches and the free trade relationship between the U.S. and Mexico.Monday, Mexican officials said 70 percent of trade with the U.S. is by trucks, and the Mexican Government is ready to collaborate with the U.S. to ensure border safety and that trade flows efficiently.“Free trade is incredibly important to our region here in San Diego,” said Faulconer. "We have over 100,000 jobs that are dependent upon trade with Mexico.”Faulconer said the goal is to create a safe, secure and functioning border. He is also calling for the approval of the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA.The Chamber also said advancing USMCA is a key priority of this week's meeting.Monday the delegation will discuss the U.S. Mexico trade relationship, including the border, immigration and economic development. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — California officials said Friday that a technical glitch caused data on hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 tests to go unreported.Despite the inaccurate data, officials say they are still seeing a trend showing a decrease in case rates. Hospitalization and death data, however, is collected differently and unaffected by the glitch.According to the state, the data system they use failed and that led to inaccurate case numbers and case positivity rates. That failure prevented counties from having some of the data they need to monitor and respond to the virus in local communities, like contact tracing.The state says that about two weeks ago, a server outage created a delay in lab records coming into the reporting system. At the same time, they realized they weren't getting data from one of the largest commercial reporting labs for about five days.California Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly says the issues have been fixed."We expect that over the next 24 to 48 hours that the backlog that's between 250,000 to 300,000 cases will be resolved, giving us a better sense of the number of tests that were delayed," Ghaly told reporters on Friday. "We are reporting this data to the counties based on the date the specimen was collected so we can attribute it to the appropriate date."The state says the system was not built for the volume of data it's receiving. It's putting new systems in place and has created a backup system to double-check the data and reports.California's County Monitoring Watch List was paused last week so that the glitch does not play a role in decision making about county statuses.Gov. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- At least four people were stabbed in a brawl that erupted following a car show in Kearny Mesa early Thursday morning.San Diego police said the incident happened at a Chevron gas station in the 7700 block of Copley Park Place just after 12 a.m.According to police, about 50 people appeared at the gas station following a car show at a nearby park. During the gathering, a fight broke out, and a male pulled out a handgun and fired several gunshots.At the same time, another male used a knife to slash the tires of several vehicles and then tried to stab another male.When officers arrived at the gas station, those involved in the reported incident fled the area. Police discovered shell casings and blood at the scene.A short time later, police learned two people with stab wounds arrived at a Kaiser Permanente facility on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. Both victims were then transferred to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment.Police learned two more people with stab wounds showed up at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.According to police, the victims were between age 16-21. The victims described the suspect as a Hispanic male.No arrests have been made. 1190
