SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A UC San Diego fraternity was suspended as the school investigates multiple sexual assault allegations against some of its members. According to a report by The UCSD Guardian campus newspaper, at least four female students claimed they were sexually assaulted by members of the Sigma Chi fraternity in incidents over the course of the academic year. Details of the accusations came to light during sorority meetings last month, where chapter residents read written accounts from the alleged victims. An anonymous student who was at one of the meetings told the school newspaper that one woman claimed she was drugged at a Sigma Chi party when a fraternity member handed her a spiked drink that rendered her unconscious. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego woman is among those killed in the Conception boat fire off Santa Cruz Island, her coworkers in Coronado told 10News Tuesday. A manager at Nicky Rottens restaurant at 100 Orange Ave. identified Nicole Quitasol as one of the victims of the deadly fire. Quitasol was on the dive trip with four relatives, her coworkers posted on Facebook. "Nicole has worked with our Nicky Rottens Coronado family for years, and she will be remembered as an adventurous & loving soul," wrote Bryn Butolph, who described Quitasol as smart and loving."She will be greatly missed," Butolph added. He told 10News Quitasol was devoted to her dog, Peanut Butter.The family of five was among 34 people presumed dead in the blaze. All were sleeping below deck when the fire started early Monday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego police officer shot a man during a response to an emergency call in a Rancho Penasquitos neighborhood Wednesday night, police officials said.SDPD officials said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of Celtic Court, near Donaker Street. Officials confirmed officers were called to the area after a 911 call was made regarding a domestic violence incident.An SDPD official at the scene said, "The dispatcher could overhear the reporting party and the male on the radio call. She could hear the male talking about wanting to be shot by police officers and there was indication there was firearms inside of the house.”Police said when officers arrived, they found a 61-year-old man and his wife in front their home. When officers approached, the man “produced a revolver from his waistband” and started to draw the weapon towards officers. Officials said one officer fired a single round from his service weapon, striking the man in the torso.The injured man, identified on Friday as Richard Young, was breathing and talking while being taken to a local hospital, police said.
