FedEx and Happy Returns are partnering up for a new venture: making returns easier.By the end of October, FedEx will accept certain returns without a box or label, the e-commerce return technology company announced in a press release on Tuesday.“We are thrilled to grow with FedEx Office to bring in-person returns to more online shoppers,” said David Sobie, Co-Founder, and CEO of Happy Returns, in the news release. “In a time of retail uncertainty due to the coronavirus, it is incredibly valuable to add an essential services provider like FedEx Office to our growing network.”To make a return, consumers will first need to receive a QR code from either the retailers' or Happy Returns' website, then bring the item(s) and QR code with you to any of the 2,000 FedEx locations across the nation to complete the return.Customers will also be able to make returns at the FedEx stations that'll be available in 343 Walmart stores across the U.S., USA Today reported. In most cases, Happy Returns initiates refunds and exchanges immediately, the company said. 1065

Former President Barack Obama on Tuesday criticized President Donald Trump's decision to exit the Iran deal, a pillar of Obama's legacy on foreign policy."Indeed, at a time when we are all rooting for diplomacy with North Korea to succeed, walking away from the JCPOA risks losing a deal that accomplishes -- with Iran -- the very outcome that we are pursuing with the North Koreans," Obama said in a statement. "That is why today's announcement is so misguided."Trump announced on Tuesday afternoon that he was withdrawing the US from the nuclear agreement with Iran and said he would impose new sanctions. In his statement defending the multiparty agreement with Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Obama cited many who support the deal, including the US' European allies, and he invoked the support of US Secretary of Defense James Mattis, who has said it is in the interest of the US to stay in the agreement."In a democracy, there will always be changes in policies and priorities from one Administration to the next," Obama's statement continued. "But the consistent flouting of agreements that our country is a party to risks eroding America's credibility, and puts us at odds with the world's major powers."The former President was joined in his disapproval of Trump's decision on Tuesday by former Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State John Kerry.Biden said in a statement following Trump's announcement that the decision is "a profound mistake" and that it would put Iran on the path to developing nuclear weapons without diplomatic recourse."This wholly unnecessary crisis could ultimately put the safety of our country and our fellow citizens, including thousands of men and women in uniform serving across the Middle East, at risk by setting us back on a path to war with Iran," Biden said.Kerry condemned the move by Trump to abandon the agreement he had helped forge."Today's announcement weakens our security, breaks America's word, isolates us from our European allies, puts Israel at greater risk, empowers Iran's hardliners, and reduces our global leverage to address Tehran's misbehavior, while damaging the ability of future Administrations to make international agreements," Kerry's statement said.In the leadup to Trump's announcement, Kerry called for Trump to keep the agreement intact, and on Monday, Trump criticized Kerry on Twitter for what he called "shadow diplomacy." 2482

First Lady Melania Trump announced Monday that the new tennis court pavilion at the White House is completed, just six weeks before President-elect Joe Biden is expected to be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.According to a White House press release, the project included renovating the existing tennis court and children's garden, as well as building the new pavilion, which was both "planned to blend with the existing structures on the White House grounds."The new building's design was inspired by the White House's existing architectural style, especially the East and West Wings, the first lady's office said."The colonnade, parapet wall, and fanlight windows tie the new building to the existing look and feel of the White House," the press release stated."I am pleased to announce the completion of the Tennis Pavilion on the White House grounds. Thank you to all of the talented craftsmen who made this project possible and to the generous supporters of the White House," said First Lady Melania Trump. "It is my hope that this private space will function as both a place of leisure and gathering for future First Families."Planning for the renovation began in early 2018. The Commission of Fine Arts and the National Capital Planning Commission approved the project in June 2019. Construction began that October. The White House says the project was paid for with private donations and did not disclose the cost. 1449

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Football Team, Broncos, Bears, Titans, Cardinals and Green Bay Packers all canceled practices in an apparent response to the shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, in Wisconsin. The Jets provided no immediate details on their decision to not practice Thursday. The Colts posted a statement on Twitter, saying they would not hold their scheduled practice session.“Instead, the team will use the day to discuss and work toward making a lasting social impact and inspiring change in our communities,” the statement said. The Denver Broncos held a team meeting and decided to not practice, and instead use the time to focus on social justice reform. Players with the Chicago Bears "decided to pause our football activities" on Thursday it discuss with each other where they stand on racial injustice. The Washington Football Team was scheduled to practice at FedEx Field. Blake was shot by police officers, apparently in the back, on Sunday as he leaned into his SUV, three of his children seated inside. The protests weren’t limited to the NFL. The Milwaukee Bucks opted not to play in their playoff game Wednesday, and two other games were postponed later in the day.Three Major League Baseball games were also postponed. Florida is just one step away from living up to its nickname as “The Sunshine State."Florida Governor Rick Scott signed HB 1013 on Friday. The bill would let Florida remain on Daylight Saving Time year round. The "Sunshine Protection Act," would make Florida exempt from the twice-yearly time change. While the rest of the Eastern United States would set their clocks back in the fall, Florida wouldn’t, leaving it with more sunshine in the evening during the winter. Northwest Florida is currently in the Central time zone. The bill still has to be approved by Congress. 596
