A celebrity surprise at a South Florida wedding over the weekend.Actor and comedian Adam Sandler surprised a couple on Saturday, posing for a photo on their big day.Palm Beach Photography, Inc. posted the picture on Facebook, showing Sandler with Karan and Tatiana Shah at the Pavillion Grille in Boca Raton.Scripps affiliate WPTV spoke to the Shahs on Monday who said they were taking newlywed photos after their ceremony when they saw Sandler in his car. He had been playing basketball nearby."There’s a guy reversing out with his window down, and I’m just looking at my beautiful bride, and I look and look and look, and I’m looking at her and... Adam Sandler?" said Karan Shah. "And he’s like, that's me! And I said, ohhhh that's cool!"Shah asked Sandler if he would take a photo with them, which the actor happily agreed to do. He even wished them luck on their journey of marriage."The guy is so humble and so gentle," said Shah. "If he sees us we just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for just making this wonderful memory for us." 1100

A local mom has joined Tennessee lawmakers to back a bill that would require a prescription bottle design change in order to save young lives.Betty Mason of Green Hills, Tennessee lost her daughter, Katy to an opioid overdose in May 2016. "Great IQ, great student, great athlete. She had everything in the world going for her and it...her future was bright and it came to an abrupt halt with this," Mason said.Doctors told Mason that Katy was in the hospital on life support after the apparent overdose.Mason said her daughter started experimenting with prescription drugs after eighth grade with friends. She said for five years her daughter's big smile would fade during her time in and out of three treatment facilities.Mason hoped a state proposed bill, Pilfering Prevention Act, would help curb Tennessee's opioid epidemic. The act would allow prescription bottles for drugs considered severely psychologically or physically addicting to have a 4-number combination lock. Each patient would be assigned a pin number to unlock the container.Dr. Sterling Haring with Vanderbilt University Medical Center contributed to a John Hopkins report which recommended updating prescription packaging. The update would apply to only Schedule II prescriptions, meaning substances that have a high potential for abuse which may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence. Most prescription bottles haven't changed for 50 years."But to me if your boat is sinking, the first step is to plug the hole and then you start bailing the water out. So to mean what this bill does is plug the hole," Haring said. 1701

A customer is being hailed as a hero after he charged a gunman who had opened fire early Sunday at a Waffle House in the Nashville area, killing four and injuring others.Police and an eyewitness said the man's actions prevented further bloodshed at the restaurant in Antioch.Don Aaron, spokesman for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, said the customer came from the bathroom area and grappled with the suspect, identified as Travis Reinking, for control of an assault-style rifle. The man, who police did not identify, was able to wrestle the weapon away and toss it over the counter. Aaron said the patron suffered injuries but they are not serious."He is the hero here, and no doubt he saved many lives by wrestling the gun away and then tossing it over the counter, and prompting the man to leave," Aaron said.A witness who was in the parking lot told CNN affiliate WTVF that the good Samaritan rushed in while the gunman had stopped firing and was looking at the weapon."Had that guy reloaded, there were plenty more people who probably could have not made it home this morning," the witness said. 1140
