JUPITER, Florida —  It's now a sprawling sex trafficking investigation involving many jurisdictions and ensnaring wealthy, powerful suspects, but it began with a health inspector observing curious details suggesting women might be living at a Jupiter, Florida, day spa.Since at least July, after a state Health Department employee alerted police to signs of human trafficking, authorities had suspected Orchids of Asia Day Spa was providing more than massages and facials. Their suspicions were buttressed by a preliminary investigation that uncovered a seemingly all-male clientele and internet postings describing the spa as a "rub and tug," according to a police affidavit.Police requested the Florida Department of Health conduct a "routine inspection," and the department sent one of its inspectors there November 14. She reported back that the spa housed two rooms with beds, sheets and pillows, the affidavit said. There were also dressers containing medicine and clothing, as well as a fridge with food and condiments, it said.The findings, police and the health department determined, were "consistent with individuals living inside," the affidavit said.Taking a closer lookThis led a Jupiter detective to ramp up the investigation. Investigators pulled bags from a Dumpster and found a ripped-up ledger, credit card receipts and napkins wet with semen, the affidavit said.Police staked out the business, watching man after man enter the spa and leave after 30 minutes or an hour, the affidavit said. INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly 400 guns were seized from an Indianapolis gun store as part of a months-long federal investigation. United States Attorney Josh Minkler said the seizures happened on Tuesday from G2 Sports Products. The investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found evidence that G2 Sports "knowingly transferred handguns to an out-of-state resident, made false entries in records, failed to report multiple sales of handguns and knowingly transferred firearms to a prohibited person."The business agreed to an enhanced surrender of its federal license, according to the US Attorney's Office, which means none of the owners will be eligible to reapply for their license or deal in firearms again. The owners allowed ATF to seize the approximately 390 firearms, silencers and receivers which included rifles, shotguns and handguns with a total estimated value of 4,000. KOKOMO — A central Indiana woman has a word of warning for other women after finding something strange on a feminine product she just recently purchased."It's really gross," Kimberly Fisher said after opening the package of her Tampax Pearl tampon and noticing the string was discolored."I thought that was odd so I go to look at the tip of it and I noticed that it was also a weird and dingy color and so I pushed it out of the applicator and it had nothing but black mold all over it," Fisher said.Fisher said she bought the new box of tampons in Kokomo, Indiana, last week — two days before making the discovery. Fisher said she immediately became concerned wondering if other tampons she already used looked the same way."The fear of what could happen, the fear of did my last one have that and I did not know," she said.Fisher said she hopes by sharing her story it will serve as a warning for other women and girls to check their tampons before using them."We need to spread awareness because this is something you never thought about," Fisher said.
