LOS ANGELES (AP) — The search to find “Glee” TV show star Naya Rivera in a Southern California lake resumed on Sunday. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said last week that they believe Rivera drowned in Lake Piru. Her 4-year-old son was discovered alone in a rented boat. The boy was found asleep and wearing a life vest. He told investigators that he and his mother went swimming and he got back on the boat — but his mom never made it out of the water. Rivera starred on the Fox hit from 2009 until 2015. 517

LOS ANGELES (AP) — As the coronavirus pandemic forced people to stay put, it gave sharks a travel passport and scientists a rare opportunity. Ocean spots cleared of fishing boats and other intrusions saw increased and even unusual marine life behavior, and Discovery Channel’s Shark Week jumped through hoops to capitalize on the brief window. Its 32nd annual Shark Week slate includes a pair of shows taped earlier this year during the lull. The virus-related shows are “Shark Lockdown,” airing at 10 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, and “Abandoned Waters,” airing 8 p.m. Eastern on Monday. A record 24 shows will air during Shark Week, which starts Sunday and continues through Aug. 16. 687
LOS ANGELES (AP) — An autopsy report says a Black man shot and killed by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies was wounded 16 times in the front and back. But the report doesn’t shed any light on whether he was on the ground when he was shot. The county coroner's report supplied to The Associated Press on Friday says Dijon Kizzee had four “rapidly life-threatening wounds." The 29-year-old died Aug. 31 in South Los Angeles after deputies tried to stop him for riding a bicycle in the wrong direction. Deputies said they shot Kizzee when he picked up a dropped handgun. Attorneys for the family deny that he picked up the gun. 636
