"It’s our position that he used the U-Haul passenger van as a deadly weapon."Good Samaritans rushed to hold Davis in place until deputies arrived and arrested him. Sadly, two men who were outside of the bar at the wrong time were seriously hurt."A 25-year-old victim has had a severe injury to his leg, he’s had his third surgery today," said Coulter.The other victim, a 24-year-old, was also left hospitalized with severe injuries."He has two collapsed lungs, fractured ribs, a broken arm and he did spend time in the ICU," she said.Bail was set at million. WASHINGTON — The government’s cybersecurity agency is expressing increased alarm about a hack of computer systems in the U.S. and around the globe that officials suspect was carried out by Russia.The cybersecurity unit of the Department of Homeland Security says the hack “poses a grave risk” to the U.S. government and state and local governments as well as critical infrastructure and private business.The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency announced the SolarWinds Orion vulnerability that was disclosed this week as the compromised piece of software, was not the only way that hackers were able to get into government agencies, private companies and critical infrastructures over the last several months."CISA has determined that this threat poses a grave risk to the Federal Government and state, local, tribal, and territorial governments as well as critical infrastructure entities and other private sector organizations," the alert issued by the agency said. Video shows a woman being severely injured after she pursued a man who snatched her purse at a McDonald's restaurant in Okeechobee.The incident happened Thursday at about 8:30 p.m.Police say the suspect entered the restaurant, approached the booth in which the elderly woman was sitting, reached over the backrest and grabbed her tan Coach purse. Surveillance video shows the woman chasing the man to his car. He backed out, knocking the woman to the ground and leaving the scene.The woman was injured and is currently hospitalized. VISTA (CNS) - A Catholic priest who grabbed a seminary student's groin from behind in a restroom stall during a night of drinking at a Carlsbad restaurant was convicted of misdemeanor sexual battery Monday.A jury deliberated about two hours before finding the Rev. Juan Garcia Castillo guilty.Castillo, who had worked at St. Patrick's Church in Carlsbad since 2011, faces six months in jail and registration as a sex offender when he is sentenced Jan. 18, said Deputy District Attorney Joshua Brisbane.The 33-year-old victim -- a former Navy attorney who left the military to join the priesthood -- testified that he had met Castillo the night before the incident, which happened about 1 a.m. on Feb. 4.According to court testimony, the victim went to the restroom to be sick, and was in a stall when Castillo grabbed his genitals from behind.The victim testified that he told Castillo to go away, but the defendant came back in the stall and massaged the victim's groin in a sexual way.Castillo, 35, testified that he followed the victim into the restroom because it looked like he was going to be sick. The priest said he tried to put pressure on the victim's stomach to stop his vomiting because his mother had taught him that trick as a child.The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego suspended Castillo once it learned of the "credible allegation" against him. 1371

VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for a man they say was acting suspicious outside an Islamic center in Vista in late March. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the man was seen taking pictures on the Tri-City Islamic Center on March 30. When someone at the center saw the man taking pictures, they invited him inside. When the man saw there were people inside the center, he took off running, deputies say. Witnesses describe the man as Hispanic in his late 20s, about five feet, seven inches tall with a lean or muscular build, short, dark hair and a blonde beard. He was last seen wearing a red hat, dark gray sports coat and blue jeans. Anyone who sees something suspicious is asked to call the department at 858-565-5200 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. The incident happened shortly after a fire was set at an Escondido Mosque on March 24. The fire, which caused minimal damage the building, was extinguished by members of the mosque. When authorities arrived, they discovered graffiti referencing the New Zealand mass shooting at the scene. 1265
