SAN FRANCISCO, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Microsoft announced on Tuesday that its Bing search engine will become the default search and mapping application on Blackberry phones.Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer announced the partnership with Research in Motion (RIM), which makes Blackberry phones, at the Blackberry World Conference in Orlando, Florida, according to a Microsoft blog post.Ballmer said Microsoft would invest uniquely in the Blackberry platform in addition to its own Windows Phone platform."Bing will be deeply integrated at the BlackBerry OS (operating system) level," Ballmer said.Central to the collaboration, Blackberry devices will use Bing as the preferred search provider in the browser, and Bing will be the default search and map application for new devices presented to mobile operators, both in the United States and internationally, said Microsoft's Bing team in the blog post.Meanwhile, Bing is also shipping as the default search experience and map application for the newly released Blackberry Playbook, a RIM tablet computer which made market debut on April 19.On Tuesday's Blackberry conference, Ballmer called Google's Android ecosystem "chaos" and the Apple iOS "limited" before he hailed Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry. BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Radiation leaks following explosions at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan will not affect China's environment and the health of its citizens during the next three days, authorities said Saturday.China's National Nuclear Emergency Coordination Committee made the announcement based upon analyses of environmental monitoring, meteorological forecasts, and ocean currents.The Beijing-based Regional Specialized Meteorological Center, which is affiliated with the World Meteorological Organization, issued its forecast on Saturday afternoon, saying that the radioactive leakages in Japan would not affect China over the next three days.The country's State Oceanic Administration on Saturday announced that no abnormalities were detected in terms of atmospheric radiation over the East China Sea, the northern part of the South China Sea, and the central and northern regions of the Yellow Sea.The administration predicts that the ocean currents near Fukushima would mainly travel eastward from Japan over the next three days.Furthermore, the country's Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that China's environment remains normal based upon the monitoring of radiation levels.

NEW YORK, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. stocks dropped on Wednesday, the two-year anniversary of the beginning of a bull market, as concerns of oil prices and Middle East unrest continued to weigh on investors' minds.U.S. crude oil price dipped on Wednesday as crude inventories rose more than expected, though Brent crude rose on fears caused by continued violence in Libya.Meanwhile, Rex Tillerson, the CEO of energy giant Exxon Mobil Corp., said on Wednesday that he didn't think the recent jump in oil prices was hurting the U.S. economy just yet, but it's getting close.The market was worrying that the surging oil prices would hurt global economic recovery.
