JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK (KGTV) -- After four days alone in the desert, Paul Hanks was found injured - but alive - Thursday night. The 54-year-old went missing while hiking the Maze Loop on Sunday, March 11, The High Desert Star reports. He left San Diego on Sunday, but never checked into his hotel. The Maze Loop is the same trail where the bodies of Rachel Nguyen and Josseph Orbeso were found near last October, nearly three months after they were reported missing in July. RELATED: Missing couple in Joshua Tree National Park died in murder-suicideHanks' pickup truck was found in the same parking lot as Nguyen and Orbeso. Just after 4 p.m. Thursday a member of the Joshua Park Search and Rescue team located Hanks, Gerorge Land, the park's public information officer said in a Facebook video. "It appears he fell about 20 feet," Land said. "He sustained some head injuries, we don't know the exact nature of all of his injuries...but he was conscious, he was talking to rescuers."10News is working to learn more about Hanks' current condition. JOHNSON COUNTY, Kansas — Roughly 5,000 mail-in ballots will be tabulated in Johnson County Friday.The results from the mail-in ballots will be released beginning at 8 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m.The ballots could widen the margin between the two leading Republican primary candidates for governor: Secretary of State Kris Kobach and Gov. Jeff Colyer.When polls closed on Tuesday, slow reporting in Johnson County delayed results. Once the numbers came out the following morning, Kobach led by fewer than 200 votes.Since then, the numbers have been contested, but a 41 Action News county-by-county tally shows Kobach still in the lead.The Secretary of State’s office said it should have all the advance ballots that were mailed in, and any other unofficial election results that were not previously reported on election day.Provisional ballots will be reviewed and counted next week by individual counties. They must certify the results between Monday, Aug. 13 and Monday, Aug. 20.Colyer has asked Kobach to recuse himself from giving local election officials advice. 1081

LA JOLLA (CNS) - A woman's body was found Sunday on the shoreline below cliffs in La Jolla, police said.At 6:40 a.m., someone found the body about 75 feet below the cliffs near Coast Walk, north of Torrey Pines Road, according to Officer Tony Martinez of the San Diego Police Department.Lifeguards recovered the body, which was taken with a Jet Ski to La Jolla Shores, where they met with officials from the county Medical Examiner's Office.There was no additional information on the victim, Martinez said. 514
