Despite changes, GSU is seeing more people looking to join its nursing program.For GSU nursing student Phillip Parnell, this pandemic is personal.“One of my older relatives recently passed away with the virus,” he said.The army veteran is now making his second career his first priority.“When it hits home, it’s a different level of intensity,” Parnell said.The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the health care industry needs more than 200,000 new nurses each year through 2026 just to replace retiring nurses.“Although we never thought we would see a pandemic in our lifetime, it’s here,” Johnson said.GSU students are happy to be leading the next generation of nurses while also fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines.“We answer the call to be there for people,” Johnson said. “It’s our time to show up.” 1925

Taking that much antihistamine can cause severe medical issues.“Large doses of Benadryl can cause seizures and, particularly, problems with the heart,” Scott Schaeffer, director of the Oklahoma Center for Poison and Drug Information, told KFOR. “The heart tends to go out of rhythm and not pump blood effectively.”There is currently an investigation into the death of the Oklahoma City teenager and her exact cause of death.Earlier this year, three teens in Fort Worth, Texas, became sick and had to be rushed to the hospital after taking large amounts of the medication. That stands for measles, mumps and rubella.Most children get the vaccine. It could explain why kids are less impacted by COVID-19.Testing on mice found these kinds of "live" vaccines boosted cells' ability to fight off sepsis.Sepsis is ultimately what's causing organ problems and inflammation in many adults who have contracted the novel coronavirus.“The idea behind it is, if these live attenuated vaccines are inducing the cells that will inhibit or dampen the sepsis, that gives the regular immune response time enough to get rid of the infection,” said Dr. Paul Fidel, a professor at LSU.The results of the "live" vaccine test on mice were undeniable.Researchers also point to what happened on the USS Roosevelt, where more than 1,200 sailors contracted the virus.
