TULSA -- More details are coming out about the woman who police in Oklahoma say brutally stabbed her 11-year-old daughter Monday night. Friends and family of Taheerah Ahmad said they are in complete shock that the mother could do something like this.Those close to Ahmad painted two different pictures of her. One picture is of a caring mother who loves her children in the public eye, and the other is an abusive, unstable mother inside of her home.“Whenever she would talk about her kids, everything was always positive. She never said anything crazy,” said a former coworker of Ahmad.The coworker, who didn’t want to go on camera with Scripps station KJRH in Tulsa, said she always seemed normal enough.“She would go out with us," the former coworker said. "She would have drinks with us. She just seems like a very nice person.”But as her coworkers got close to her, they said they noticed something was off and would start noticing little things about Ahmad. “I know she went by at least four different names,” a coworker said.Her coworker said whenever a shooting took the life of one of Ahmad's friends last year, Ahmad changed and became sad.Her coworker said she brought up her children all the time and always talked about them in positive ways.But neighbors said that’s just what Ahmad was telling her friends.RELATED: Suspect in Amber Alert, stabbing of daughter seen smiling after arrestMultiple neighbors, who also didn’t want to go on camera, said they often heard screaming from inside the home and said there was something eerie about the house.One neighbor even said several nights in the past week, he would see Ahmad performing what appeared to be rituals late at night around a fire.“I really don’t know if there’s any reasoning behind this, but I just hope whatever is wrong gets fixed,” the neighbor said. The mother is in jail on one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of child neglect and one count of arson.The 11-year-old’s condition is still critical.  2103

Two California men were taken into custody for reportedly dancing naked on a boat near Lake Havasu in Arizona on Saturday.According to a release from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, 38-year-old Jason Michael Faust and 37-year-old Robert Paul Yow were each arrested for felony indecent exposure. Officials say deputies had received a call that Faust and Yow were seen dancing naked on their boat at The Sandbar, north of Lake Havasu. The caller told authorities that three children, all under the age of 15, were present during this incident. When the family tried to confront Faust and Yow about their behavior, they reportedly became aggressive, and, "continued to show their genitals to the family."As deputies arrived, they observed that Faust, who was the driver of the boat, was inconsistent with his speed and made erratic changes in direction. Officials say both men reportedly admitted to taking their clothes off. Neither acknowledged knowing that children were present at the time, officers reported. Faust reportedly told deputies, “It’s the lake, it’s just what you do," and admitted that he had been drinking around since 7 a.m. but would not submit to a breath or field sobriety tests.  1267

VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) - Family members are mourning the loss of Roland Escarcega Jr., a father of five and an apparent victim of those deadly blue pills. When Shonta Chaloux last saw his cousin, Escarcega was his usual jovial self."We were joking. I gave him a hard time, and he gave me a hard time," said Chaloux.Two months later, Chaloux got the news."Devastated, sad ... it was a family member who found him at his home," said Chaloux.Escarcega, 39, was found dead in his bed in late July at his home on the San Pasqual Indian Reservation after Escarcega, who worked for the tribe's water department, hadn't shown up for work. Chaloux doesn't know all the details, but says his cousin is one of the victims of the deadly pills mentioned in a sheriff's department warning."Assuming whoever went into his room and what was recovered matches what was found in the other victim's homes," said Chaloux.In late July, deputies said blue counterfeit Oxycodone pills, likely laced with Fentanyl, caused four overdose deaths in 36 hours. Chaloux says his cousin was among those who died during those 36 hours. Chaloux did not know his cousin was taking painkillers or who may have supplied them. "Whoever cut those pills, they deserve to go to prison. They are killing people," said Chaloux.Chaloux is hoping by sharing Escarcega's story, he can help other families."Listen to family members if they are struggling and see what they're struggling with," said Chaloux.For those who turn to the streets for pain relief, he has this message. "Don't do it. You're playing Russian Roulette with your own life," said Chaloux.Escarcega's funeral will be held Tuesday. Two more members of President Donald Trump’s campaign working on his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma have tested positive for the coronavirus.The president’s campaign put out a statement Monday that said the two staffers, part of the advance team for Saturday’s rally, tested positive before they boarded their flight out of Oklahoma.The two were then quarantined and the campaign began contact tracing protocols. These positive tests follow the news that six other staffers, including two Secret Service agents, tested positive in the hours before Saturday’s rally.The rally was believed to be the largest indoor event in the nation since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
